FSA TESTING
FSA testing resumed on March 28th and will run through May 2nd for students in grades 3, 4 and 5. Please keep in mind the following tips in order to give your child his or her best opportunity for success:
• Encourage a good night’s sleep
• Dress comfortably
• Encourage your child to read every question carefully and eliminate the known wrong answers if a question is difficult
Testing will begin each morning at 8:50, so please make every effort to arrive at school on time. It is important to note that if a student begins a session and needs to leave campus without finishing (due to an appointment, illness, etc.), he or she will not be allowed to complete that session. Please make every effort to schedule appointments on dates that are not designated as FSA testing days. Testing dates are as follows:
March 28th & 29th April 10th & 11th
FSA Reading - Grades 3 FSA Math– Grade 4
April 12th & 13th April 17th & 18th
FSA Math – Grade 3 FSA Reading – Grade 4 April 19th & 20th April 24th & 25th
FSA Reading – Grade 5 FSA Math – Grade 5

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION DAY
MONDAY, MAY 8, 2017
Media Center - 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Kindergarten Registration Requirements:
-5 years old on or before September 1, 2017
-Birth certificate
- Social Security Card
-Health examination – HRS Form 3040
-HRS Certificate of Immunization
-Proof of residency (current electric bill, lease agreement or notarized statement of residency)
Note – YOUR CHILD CANNOT START SCHOOL UNLESS YOU PROVIDE THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE. In order for us to process your registration, ALL the above information must be submitted.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION
Marlowe Elementary School would like to recognize all of our volunteers. April 24th – 28th is Volunteer Appreciation Week. We truly appreciate the dedication and commitment that our volunteers give to our school. “We could not do what we do without you!”
Every year the District School Board of Pasco County’s volunteer program asks each school to select an “Outstanding Peer and Adult Volunteer of the Year.” This year, Danielle Jensen and Wanda Psilaskis were selected to represent Marlowe Elementary School.
Marlowe Elementary would like to thank all the students who volunteer as peer volunteers. We love our student Earth Patrol and Safety Patrol Volunteers!
ART NEWS

S.T.E.M. FAIR
Marlowe Elementary School held its S.T.E.M. Fair. Third, fourth, and fifth grade students participated. Congratulations to the following classroom representatives for the S.T.E.M. DENTAL VAN
Marlowe Elementary will be visited by the Mobile Dental Bus “Smile Care A Van” on April 3rd, April 4th, April 5th for students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. Dental services will be available at no cost. Permission is required from parent and forms were sent home at the beginning of the year.

PTO NEWS
The PTO is looking forward to the upcoming Spring Family Dance on April 27th. We will have many different gift baskets that you could win. Keep an eye out for the flyer for more details on the dance!
There is an upcoming McWolf Night on April 20th. Please plan to come support the school at this fundraiser. If you aren’t able to come in, you can go through the drive thru and still support the school.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE
April 6th
8:40 a.m. in the Media Center
Marlowe’s Guidance Department will be offering the next “It Takes a Village To Raise A Child” breakfast series on April 6th from 8:40 – 9:20 a.m. in the Media Center. We will be taking a refreshing look at how to nurture your child while using positive discipline. Light refreshments will be provided. Join us for this informative and entertaining look at parenting. Free take home materials will be provided.
