ACTIVITY NOTES
Extra materials required: one die per group of three players one board piece (such as a bottle cap, etc.) per group of three players
1. With your learners seated in groups of three, one player begins (`Player A') by rolling a die and moving forward the number shown.
2. The other two players (`Players B and C') then ask, "What were you doing at 9:15 a.m.?"
3. Player A then picks up a card and answers (for example), "I was riding a horse." Player A must then try to provide plausible (possible or realistic) answers to questions asked by Players B and C, such as: "Why were you riding a horse?" / "Where were you going?" / Who were you riding a horse with?" etc.
4. If the Player A gives plausible answers, then he or she can keep the card. Play then continues with Player B rolling the die and moving the board piece forward from the last roll (and Players A and C asking the questions). Play continues as above, with students taking turns rolling the die.
5. Play continues until the last board squares have been reached. The winner is the person who has collected the most cards.
NOTE: Players have a lot of fun discussing and deciding what kinds of answers are plausible or not plausible!
