Pirates – Parrot and Flag

BACKGROUND

A pirate is a person who commits warlike acts at sea without the authorization of any nation. Most pirates ships have a flag that identify who the ship belongs too. In many cartoons or movies the captain will have a parrot on sitting on their shoulder.

WHAT TO DO

TP Roll Parrot

1. Give each youth a TP roll and the template

2. Have the youth color the template and cut out the pieces

3. Glue the large rectangular piece on first to cover the roll.

4. Glue on the head, wings, tail, breast piece and feet

Pirate Ship Flag

1. Give each youth an 8.5” x 11” piece of construction paper.

2. Have each youth write their name on their flag.

3. Have youth decorate their flags with crayons, markers and the embellishments of their choice.

Helpful Hints

1. If the kids use paint on one side of the hat, they will not be able to decorate the other side until the paint dries.
