Once you arrive:
STEP 1
DEERS:
Update your new address or other pertinent Family information. tricare.mil/deers; Call 1-800-538-9552. If you do not have a perm home of address, give them your recruiting centers address until you move. Once you have found a place to live, call DEERS and update your new address.
STEP 2
TRICARE:
Enroll in TRICARE: United Health Care if the Medical Contractor for the California, Oregon and Nevada. To enroll, change your provider, or ask a insurance question: Call Healthnet 844-866-9378. More information such as Providers, Medical Facilities, pharmacy benefits.
Tricare Prime Remote: Call Call Healthnet 844-866-9378. United Health Care (UHC) 877-988-9378. Website: Tricare.
Tricare Mail Order Pharmacy: express- or call 1-866-363-8667. Prescriptions can be mailed to you at a cheaper rate!

Childcare Aware: Childcare Subsidy (pay a portion of childcare fees- must be accredited). fap., military programs. You must apply. Call: 800-424-2246.

MFLC/PFC: Are assigned at the Brigade, They are always available to answer any financial or wellness concerns. 6th Recruiting Brigade, 702-600-4121 or 855-837-9659. They rotate throughout the Nor Cla footprints once a year.
AER Assistance: Go online to apply at: , or contact the nearest Red Cross office, or an Air Force Aid Society Rep.
Company FRG Volunteers: Your Company FRG should reach out to you. If not, please contact your Company HQS for the name and Number of your FRG Leader. If your spouse is interested in becoming a Company volunteer, please contact your Commander or the SFA. New Volunteers are always welcomed.
Annual Battalion Family Events:
(1) Annual Training Meeting (ATM), a year: Training, and awards conference.
(2) Organization Day. By Company.
(3) The Company Events and Holiday Parties.
(4) 6ht Bde Chaplain sponsored Strong Bonds Marriage and Single Soldier Workshop once a year.
(5) Rotation of t6th Bde Rotating Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC): 702-281-0884, Personal Financial Counselor (PFC): 702:286-7961.
During the Month of August, Operation Home Front, Dollar Store gives free Back to School Supplies for Families. Check with your Company on when you can receive the supplies.
During the Month of December: Operation Home Front, Dollar Store gives free toys.
During November: Purple Heart Veteran’s Society donates Thanksgiving Baskets for Families in need.,
California Schools: California state law requires all students to be immunized with Hep-B before they start school. Visit the California/Oregon, Nevada Department of Education web sites for additional information.

Housing: Housing costs vary throughout the Battalion. Do to the demographics of the Nor Cal Bn, Post/Base housing is limited. Housing can be expensive in California! Prepare ahead! Please check with Ms Stacey Mooney regarding your eligibility for Government Family Leased Housing, at 916-853-1746. Or Mr Andino, USAAREC Housing Program Mgr 502-624-3103.
Gym Membership:
Soldiers, must contact their Company Headquarters. The Unit Admin Rep can sign you up for the Gym membership program, once you have in processed. Soldiers must visit the gym at least 8 times per month to stay active. Keep track of your visits to gym for 6 months, and por and give the. Please note that Spouses are not authorized paid gym memberships, however The Soldier can opt for YMCA memberships and spouse is free.
MEDPROS:
Keep your MEDPROS updated and green. Contact your Company Headquarters for guidance on finding MTF’s or contracted medical professional in your area. The SFA will update your MEDPROS with documentation.
