Dashes Off¡Again

Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) stars as Ross Poldark, a redcoat who returns to

change his destiny, restore his lost fortune and reclaim his love.

It¡¯s now 1796; and to defend Cornwall and those he loves from an

empowered George Warleggan, Ross risks everything he holds dear as he

embarks on a political journey which takes him to the nation¡¯s capital¡and into

new perils.

Meanwhile, Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) finds her loyalties torn, Elizabeth

(Heida Reed) tries to strengthen her marriage, Morwenna (Ellise Chappell)

The drama and intrigue begin anew Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8 pm/9 Mtn.

From the Board¡

KSPS Public Television has always celebrated great literature through dramas such as MASTERPIECE.

This summer and fall, we¡¯re doing it a bit more literally ¡ª and you are invited to take part.

As you may remember, The Great American Read began in May with a two-hour launch episode in which

the list of 100 best-loved books was revealed and viewers were encouraged to vote for their favorites.

Starting September 11 at 8 pm, and for the next six Tuesdays, one-hour themed episodes will examine

concepts common to groups of books on the list. The Grand Finale airs October 23, when the final results

¡ª the number one book! ¡ª will be revealed.

At this writing, about 2 million votes have been cast. How about yours? Friends and neighbors in U.S.

and Canada, you still have time to cast your ballot for your favorite books among the 100. You can vote

daily so visit our website () and click on The Great American Read. Voting ends the night of October 18. Vote and join

your fellow Public Television fans to celebrate literature and reading. You may just find some good books on that list that you haven¡¯t

read.
