Job Description

Title: IT Support Specialist

Status: Non-exempt

Reports to: Senior Network Administrator and Application Specialist

Position Purpose:

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the integration, support and security of the Credit Union’s client (desktop and portable) systems including all related hardware, software, telecommunications components and first level Help Desk Support.

Essential Duties:

1. Install software and integrate client systems and related components including but not limited to:

• Building out new desktop PC’s, adding hardware as necessary, loading software, configuration.

• Configuration of printers, Outlook and drive mappings on desktop PC’s.

• Completing the procedures defined for adding, removing and retiring hardware.

2. Maintain documentation of desktop PC software, inventory, hardware, trouble tickets, users and network topology.

3. Serve as the primary contact for all client system users; respond to users with resource or troubleshooting requests.

4. Maintain sufficient inventory of replacement systems, components, printers and toner supplies.

5. Interact with computer vendors on warranties, returns, training, and troubleshooting etc.

6. Maintains workstation software patches which includes researching individual patches, fixes to software problems, and implementation process. Follows all patch management procedures to insure adequate security measures are maintained.

7. Performs basic Network Administration activities that include setting up, modifying and deletion of Network users.

8. Informs Senior Network Administrator of work in progress, problems and completed items on a daily basis.

9. Performs all necessary related operational job tasks as assigned.

10. Complies with all internal policies and procedures as defined by the organization and department.

11. Maintains documentation on all operational procedures as it impacts assigned duties, and procedures.

12. Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for any illegal activity as it applies to this position.

Other Duties:

1. Assist with the lifting and moving of PC’s, monitors, and printers.

2. Support Sr. Network Administrator in network/server integration and administration

3. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

|Education: |Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study preferred. |

|Work experience: |One year to three years of similar or related experience including software/hardware |

| |installation and Windows 7 experience preferred. |

|Knowledge: |Requires basic knowledge of computer architecture, computer |

| |troubleshooting, data and file organization, and network and |

| |computer integration. |

|Skills and mental abilities: (with|Ability to acquire, retain and apply knowledge of Information |

|or without accommodation) |Technology policies and procedures. Requires oral and written |

| |communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy of job function. . Diplomacy, tact, and |

| |ability to maintain confidentiality also required. Self- driven and be able to work without |

| |direct supervision. Good analytical skills for software and hardware problem solving. |

|Material and equipment used: |Computer terminal and keyboard, personal computer, telephone, fax |

| |machine, copy machine, tape drives. |

|Work environment: |Office environment. |

|Physical activity and abilities: |Manual coordination to operate PC, and telephone. Able to |

|(with or without accommodation) |sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. Vision to read |

| |information to be entered into system via computer screen. Ability to |

| |communicate with employees. Ability to move to various locations |

| |within the building. Legible handwriting. Position necessitates standing, |

| |stooping, reaching, and lifting. |
