There are times when you will need to make a print copy of a Canvas Quiz, either for records, accreditation artifacts, or to use in an Offline Environment.

1) Start in your Canvas Course. You will need to Export your Quiz to a local file. a) Navigate to Course Settings b) Click on Export Course Content

c) On the next screen, when prompted for Export Type: Select Quiz d) Uncheck All Quizzes

Check the quiz you want to export--for this you can only do 1 at a time

e) Click Create Export

f) The Progress Bar will show your progress and will alert when it has been completed.

A New Export link will become available, click to download your file. After this the download link will show as at top: QTI Export from (however long) ago.

2) Click Save File and OK to download your file to your computer's Downloads folder. Note: you may use your File Explorer to move this elsewhere on your computer if you wish.

3) Import your Questions into Respondus 4.0 Test Generator a) Open Respondus 4.0, on the Start Tab: Set the Current Personality to IMS QIT b) Click Import Questions

c) Be sure the Type of File is QIT d) Click Browse to find your file (in the search dialog be sure you are looking for ZIP files). Click to select and Open the file. e) Create a New Document and give it a Name f) Preview you quiz--this will populate the Preview results with questions and alert you to any issues. (Some question types are not supported). g) Click Finish

4) When the results show in the Preview box and the Imported Successfully message appears, you can either address the issues in the Edit tab, or bypass this, go to Preview & Publish tab for the final step.

5) Click Print Options A) Choose what you want to put in Word (you can do this more than once) Exam only, Exam and Answers, Answer Key Only.

B) If you are giving a Paper Quiz/Test, you can Randomize the Questions or group them.

C) Click Save to File D) in the Save Dialog give the new file a name and save it where you wish.

6) Bring the file up in Word to edit and format the questions. ** Formatting will be Necessary. **
