Life Science Mrs. Keefe’s Science Website- cusd4keefe.General Information: Life Science will cover a variety of topics and include individual and group work. This handout includes class topics, textbook information, grading & homework policies, and contact information. Expectations are on ics: Students will learn about:Life Science: Introduction to Living Things, Introduction to Cells, Cell Processes and Energy, Genetics: The Science of Heredity, DNA: The Code of Life, Change Over Time, Viruses, Bacteria, Protists, and Fungi, Plants, Introduction to Animals, Animal Life Processes, Introduction to the Human Body, Managing Materials in the Body, Controlling Body Processes, Fighting Diseases, Populations and Communities, Ecosystems and Biomes We will not necessarily get to everything.Online Textbook: Interactive Life Science, Pearson Education 2013 Grading & Homework Policies: Daily Work Tests/Quizzes Projects/Activities/LabsAll of the above are assigned points. I accept NO late work! Homework will not be accepted even one day after it is due, unless you have an excused absence. If sick, students are responsible for making up the homework. Students will get as many days missed to make up the work, i.e. if student is sick 3 days they have 3 days to submit homework. Their homework will be uploaded daily to my website. It is their responsibility to get work submitted on time and check my website daily! Any absent work not completed on time after their illness will result in a zero. All projects assigned must be completed on an individual basis unless otherwise specified. Homework assignments, labs, classroom activities, projects, quizzes, tests will be uploaded daily to my website and remain for a week at a time. Students will need pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters, notecards, and one- 2 pocket folder to keep them organized for science class. I recommend students get ear buds and a protective case for their MacBook computer. Please sign and return within the first 2 class periods.
