How to install My Math Lab to your own computer ( or to a University computer that doesn’t have it on)
1. First of all you can not install MyMathLab to a Mac
2. You must use Internet explorer to access the Course Compass (MyMathLab) website.
If you need to install the Math XL player, in the Installation Wizard, do a Custom Install in the bottom right corner of the screen.
You will come to a Math XL Player screen.
Click on Install the component
A yellow bar might appear at the top of the screen (a pop-up)(You might not see it but it is between the toolbar and the main screen. Look for it.) which says, “This site might require the following Active X control: ‘Pearson Installation Assistant’ from ‘Pearson Education.
Click on Click here to install You will get a dropdown, choose ‘Install Active X control….’
You may get a NIE error that talks about refreshing, click RETRY
It goes back to the MathXL Player
You get a popup – ‘Do you want to install Pearson Installation Assistant’
Click Install
The MathXL player is out of date. ‘Do you want to install the Math XL Player now?
Click the link
Now it does the download.
Again the question, ‘Do you want to install this download?’
Click yes, or install
Eventually you get back to the Installation wizard and you see the statement,
MathXL Player Version 4.3.0 is properly installed on this computer.
Hit Cancel
