Towson Football Announces Recruiting Class

TOWSON, Md. – Towson head football coach Rob Ambrose announced the Tigers largest signing class in the history of the program. The 28 player class includes six student-athletes who are currently on campus and 22 student-athletes that will join the program in the fall.

“I would like to thank the efforts of the TEAM that helped to sign the largest class ever signed at this institution,” said Ambrose. “Numerous administrators, doctors and professors, support staff and students have worked tirelessly with our coaches and student-athletes for the past year to bring these new and exciting additions to our university family.

“When I look at this recruiting board, knowing the men and families behind these names, I cannot help but smile. Never have I been more pleased at the potential of these young men to represent our university.”

MID-YEAR ENROLLEES

Mitchell Boals, DB, 5-11, 185, Schofield, Wisconsin (College of DuPage)

Enrolled at Towson in January…played two seasons for head coach Matt Foster at College of DuPage...finished sophomore season with 38 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two pass break-ups and a blocked kick…had season-best eight tackles against Ellsworth and Central Lakes…registered 12 tackles and two interceptions as a freshman…began his college career at Kansas State…played prep ball for head coach Luke Coenen at D.C. Everest High School.

Tibo Debaillie, DL, 6-3, 265, Gistel, Belgium

Enrolled at Towson in January…played for head coach Lee Rosky on the Ostend Pirates…helped team capture Belgian championship.

Abdoulaye Konate, LB, 5-11, 220, New York, New York (Wyoming Seminary Upper School)

Enrolled at Towson in January…played one year for head coach Kevin Kelly at Wyoming Seminary Upper School…played prep ball for head coach Kevin Fountaine at Poly Prep.

Metise Moore, TE, 6-4, 235, Denver, Colorado (City College of San Francisco)

Enrolled at Towson in January…played one season for head coach Jimmy Collins at the City College of San Francisco…appeared in just one game for the Rams…caught one pass for five yards…spent previous two years at Alcorn State…played final two years of high school for head coach Tony Lindsay at Denver South High School…caught eight passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns as a senior…added 10 catches for 140 yards and two scores during his junior season.

Adrian Platt, RB, 5-7, 187, Germantown, Maryland (Seneca Valley HS)

Enrolled at Towson in January…played for head coach Fred Kim at Seneca Valley High School…earned First-Team All-Met honors from The Washington Post after rushing for 2,579 yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior…set Maryland state record after rushing for nine touchdowns in a victory over Magruder…eight of the nine touchdowns came in the first half…finished game with 327 yards on 22 carries…rushed for 363 yards and six touchdowns on just 15 carries against Churchill.

Zane Ventimiglia, OL, 6-3, 300, Red Bluff, California (Butte College)

Enrolled at Towson in January…played for head coach Jeff Jordan at Butte College…helped the Roadrunners to a 9-3 record and a trip to the NorCal Championship as a sophomore…blocked for an offense that averaged 257.5 yards per game…redshirted at UC Davis in 2014…played prep ball for head coach Aaron Gingery at Shasta High School…earned Second-Team All-State, as well as First-Team All-CIF Northern Section and All-Eastern League honors as a senior…also garnered all-league laurels in discus…four-year scholar-athlete.

Cole Cheripko, OL, 6-4, 270, Germantown, Maryland (Northwest HS)

Played for head coach Mike Neubeiser at Northwest High School…two-time All-Montgomery County selection…helped pave the way for two of the top 12 running backs in Montgomery County…named as the Jaguars MVP as a senior…helped team to state championship as a sophomore…selected for the Maryland Crab Bowl All-Star game…older brother, Drew, played at Towson from 2011-14.

Josh Diaz, OL, 6-5, 271, Woodberry Forest, Virginia (Woodberry Forest HS)

Played for head coach Clint Alexander at Woodberry Forest High School…three-year starter on the offensive line…earned VISAA Division I First-Team All-State honors…named to the All-Prep League first team…originally from New York City.

Christian Dixon, LB, 5-11, 200, Matthews, North Carolina (Butler HS)

Played for head coach Brian Hales at Butler High School…earned First-Team All-State honors by after finishing senior season with 183 tackles, seven pass break-ups and three blocked kicks…named to the All-Charlotte Observer First Team after helping the Bulldogs to a 12-2 record…named the Defensive MVP of the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas…two-time all-conference selection.

Rodney Dorsey, WR, 5-9, 175, Frederick, Maryland (Tuscarora HS)

Played for Vince Ahearn at Tuscarora High School…named the Frederick News-Post Offensive Player of the Year as a senior after rushing for 923 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also catching 44 passes for 625 yards and three scores…rushed for 276 yards in a first-round playoff game...earned honorable mention all-state honors after putting up over 1,000 all-purpose yards and scored 15 touchdowns as a junior…garnered Second-Team All-Area laurels as a sophomore.
