The Pension and Benefits committee is now considering options for how to address the funding deficit. Obviously, that must involve some combination of increasing contributions and decreasing benefits. Since May 2011 the University has put $1.55 into the plan for every dollar contributed by an employee; this is slated to rise to $1.65 as of May 2012 (subject to budgetary approval).
