This collaborative position serves with both our Next Gen and Worship & Programming teams. Through a rotational role, he/she will serve on both the worship staff, led by our Worship & Programming Pastor and the Next Gen staff reporting to our Student Pastor to ensure outstanding worship experiences in both environments. The Student Worship Pastor will align with the E91 statement of faith and our Elder/Staff Covenant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Next Gen Worship and Team Responsibilities:

• Serve as member of Next Gen team, working in collaboration with Student Pastor to develop and execute creative and engaging worship service content for Middle and High School students

• Lead engaging, well executed worship experiences in high energy environments

• Develop student friendly, theologically sound, Biblically accurate, musical worship library

• Lead weekly band rehearsals

• Develop and disciple a team of musical and technical students/volunteers to create age-relevant worship environments throughout NextGen Ministries

• Communicate effectively with Students, NextGen team, Worship Pastor, etc.

• Assist with recruitment of volunteers for large group worship

• Provide leadership and participation in NextGen events, including but not limited to camps, retreats, trips, and other events

• Oversight of staging for Middle/High School area

• Work with Worship & Programming Pastor as well as production personnel to oversee audio, video, and lighting equipment in student environments

• Assist Elementary and Early Childhood Ministry Areas with large group worship staging as needed

• Participate in weekly Next Gen department and supervisory meetings

General Worship Responsibilities:

• Participate weekly as member of Sunday morning main worship service team (band leader, band member, vocal team member, co-leader) and its associated weekly rehearsals

• Serve at the direction of the Worship & Programming Pastor to help provide on-going vision, integration, and direction for the musical worship expressions of E91. This includes, but is not limited to, vocal and instrumental training and development, repertoire, equipment and systems, scheduling, etc.

• Prepare weekly Ableton tracks as needed

• Serve as primary worship leader in Sunday morning main worship services on rotational, fill-in basis

• Participate in weekly worship, production and full staff meetings

• Serve on worship team for “all-in” large scale and holiday events

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an ideal candidate should have the following education, skills, and/or experience.

• Strong vocal leadership and engaging platform presence

• Demonstrated mastery of instrumental skills for worship/band leadership settings (specifically guitar and/or keyboard)

• Familiarity with software used in worship environments (ProPresenter, Planning Center, Ableton, Multitracks, Byron, etc

• Minimum educational level: BS Degree and/or minimum two years of ministry experience in a worship setting
