The Pepsi Beverages Company is offering a $3,000 scholarship in parnership with the NAACP Pittsburgh Unit to two (2) graduating African American High School Seniors who will be attending a College/University full-time in Fall 2014.
Criteria for Consideration: ? Be a graduating Senior in a City of Pittsburgh/Allegheny County School ? Plan to enroll as a Full Time student at a college or university during Fall 2014 ? Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average ? Be involved in both school activities and community service ? Plan to pursue a major in one of the following areas: business, communications, sales,
marketing, human resources, finance, supply chain or engineering. ? Have or obtain a current NAACP membership
Interested Applicants Must Submit the Following by April 7, 2014 ? A completed application ? Two (2) letters of recommendation: one (1) from a school official and one (1) from a
community organization ? Official School Transcript
A typewritten (double-spaced) essay of at least 750 words on the following topics: 1) "How my college or university graduation will enrich the community" or 2) "Why a college degree is necessary for the fulfillment of my future goals."
The winners will be recognized at the NAACP Human Rights Dinner on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Winners will receive their scholarship during the summer after submitting proof of full-time enrollment in a College or University for Fall 2014.
