|ROLE PURPOSE: |
|This role sits within the International Programmes Finance team, which has responsibility for managing country office finances, with a |
|combined annual budget of $1.2 billion. |
| |
|The role holder supports the Finance Lead with the development and fulfilment of planning and reporting processes and providing a |
|consolidated overview of international country office financial performance for senior stakeholders. The role holder will provide financial |
|support and oversight for a cluster of regions and countries, assisting in the development and review of the annual budget, quarterly |
|forecasts, monthly reporting and year-end processes. |

|Where required, the role holder will also provide guidance and assistance to regional and country offices on accounting issues and provide |
|support to members. The role holder will also provide finance input into strategic projects where required. |
|SCOPE OF ROLE: |

|KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : |
|Support the Lead Finance Manager in planning and managing the country office budgeting and forecasting cycle. |
|Review and development of tools, guidance and processes to support the annual budget and forecasts. |
|Carry out reviews of country office budgets/forecasts to ensure the quality and accuracy of projections and raising concerns as appropriate. |

|Consolidate monthly and quarterly financial reports and budgets/forecasts for country offices. |
|Maintain awareness and provide guidance on key operational issues in country offices; act as business partner to the International Programmes|
|team in London. |
|Draft relevant sections of financial board reports including commentary on budget vs actual expenditure and key risks. |
|Act as the primary point of contact for regional office finance teams on day-to-day accounting queries, business risks and cyclical |
|processes. |
|Provide advice and support to country offices including capacity building. May require travel. |
|Provide support to strategic projects and ensure ‘business as usual’ finance processes are adapted as required. |
|Work with Save the Children members to provide financial information and resolve queries. |
|Carry out P&L/balance sheet reviews and follow up any issues with the regional offices. |
|Support in the year-end process and provide information to external auditors as required, assisting with the statutory audit. |
|Undertake additional financial analysis and provide finance support to other SCI functions as required. |

|QUALIFICATIONS |
|Qualified accountant (CCAB) or equivalent. |
|EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS |
|Proven experience of working within a large/complex organisation, preferably INGO/multi-currency environment and/or experience working in |
|developing countries |
|highly accurate, detail-orientated and able to complete multiple projects with conflicting priorities on a timely basis |
|ability to analyse and present complex financial information in a succinct and compelling manner for a variety of stakeholders |
|experience with financial management information systems (Agresso is desirable) |
|excellent IT literacy including solid excel skills, |
|strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching |
|cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures |
|strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets |
|willingness to undertake occasional travel to country and regional offices for training, support and capacity-building purposes |
|foreign language skills (particularly French, Spanish or Arabic) would be a plus |
