|TITLE: Finance Projects Manager – PPM PRIME |

|ROLE PURPOSE: |

| |

|The role will be part of a Finance Project Team providing Finance functional expertise to the SCI HPO (High Performing Organisation) Change |

|Agenda. The main purpose of the role will be to support the Global Programme Management project (PPM Prime) but the individual will support |

|other projects as required as many of the HPO project interact with each other. |

| |

|SCI is undergoing significant transformation across a number of core business processes, systems, and structures, through the implementation |

|of a number of High Performing Organization Change Projects. |

|The position will spend significant time advancing one of the key initiatives of Save the Children: a global standardised project management |

|methodology and an IT system to record and analyse programmatic information and provide functionality to better manage projects (PPM PRIME). |

|The project will support proactive and timely management of programs and significantly increase the accessibility of information about Save |

|the Children’s program achievements, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness and a culture of evidence-based knowledge, learning |

|and action on what works best for children. |

| |

|A key deliverable of this project, is the development and delivery of a standard project management budgeting solution – considering people, |

|process, systems and tools. The budgeting solution will support proactive and timely budget management of programs/projects throughout the |

|project management lifecycle. |

| |

|The Finance Projects Manager is positioned to provide Financial expertise to the wider PPM PRIME project, through deep experience of SCI’s |

|financial systems, policies and procedures. A critical area for the Finance Manager will be to provide financial technical expertise to the |

|development of program, project and award budgeting solutions within the PPM PRIME project deliverables. The role will work as an embedded |

|part of these initiatives to ensure there is adequate financial expertise and input, in order to support appropriate design, build and roll |

|out of PPM PRIME. They will be a hands on, proactive individual capable of both leading and supporting on particular products or outputs of |

|the project as required within PPM PRIME in discussion with the PPM PRIME Project Manager and Budgeting Solution Workstream Lead. |

|SCOPE OF ROLE: |

|Reports to: Director of International Programs Finance |

|Role dimension: This role operates in a highly matrixed environment and a cross-functional project team. |

|KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: |

|Provide hands on finance resource to the budgeting tool and process design and development as a member of the budgeting solution workstream |

|on PPM PRIME: |

|Be the point of finance expertise for the budgeting solution workstream, supporting the budgeting solution workstream lead |

|Act as the point person for technical discussion, liaison with and representation of the Finance department to ensure the budgeting solution |

|and budget management process interdependencies with existing IP Finance systems and processes are identified and managed |

|Review budgeting workstream scope under PPM PRIME as approved by the PPM PRIME MRG, and the coding current and future state analysis relating|

|to budgeting process and tool |

|Collate existing tools, methodologies, identify what works well across the organization with regards to project budgeting & financial |

|management, and what should be emulated in the PPM Methodology and PRIME system |

|Draft the program, project and award budget development and management processes, both consolidating inputs from Design Workshops and |

|inputting technical expertise to ensure it reflects organization to-be approach |

|Identify and scope required products and tools to support budget development and management (system and non-system based) |

|Support a finance working group to conduct reviews and iterations of budgeting workstream design outputs and other PPM PRIME outputs to |

|ensure consultation and fit for purpose, consolidating feedback for action on the project |

|Define and design reporting requirements and work with the Coding team to establish best platform for delivery |

|Conduct financial analyses and other analyses as required by the Budgeting Solution Workstream Lead or PPM PRIME Project Manager to support |

|the PPM PRIME project |

| |

|Represent the finance function in the PPM PRIME project team and manage the project-financial management interdependencies: |

|Identify business requirements for the project management processes and tools to improve the interaction between project managers and the |

|finance functions in COs and ROs |

|Capture the interaction between the project management life-cycle and the financial management processes, in particular budgeting and |

|variance reporting (IP Finance interdependency) |

|Advise on the skillsets that need to be developed in project managers to improve capacity and competency in project financial management |

|Develop requirements for the financial data model (Coding interdependency) |

|Develop requirements for financial management system (Agresso) and how it would tie in with the project management system (PRIME) (Coding and|

|Finance interdependence) |

|Own the Change Impact Assessment for the finance function, liaising with the finance reference groups (RFDs, Member finance staff, etc.) to |

|manage the change process through the function |

| |

|Refine and deliver the finance objectives of the PPM PRIME Project. These include: |

|Ensuring business process maps for PPM PRIME align to the financial timelines / procedures, etc. |

|Agree the functional matrices for the project management lifecycle for finance |

|Create the components of the PPM PRIME solution documentation which relate to the finance manual and other finance documents, in |

|collaboration with the PPM Technical Lead |

|Advise on, and ensure that, financial compliance considerations are incorporated in the project management lifecycle business processes, best|

|practice guidance, manual and quality assurance and control mechanisms |

|Identify the changes to the finance manual, Agresso, and any other documents as a result of PPM PRIME |

|Work with the finance team to capture the changes and ensure they are communicated to end users and managed in a timely manner in |

|coordination with the change and deployment roll-out of PPM PRIME |

|Engage with a range of stakeholders across Member, Regional and Country offices to gather feedback on proposals and ensure collaboration and |

|buy-in (both for international and domestic programming) through Technical Working Groups and other project fora |

|Develop and gain agreement on a shared global standard for the respective processes across SCA |

|Be an advocate and change agent for the PPM PRIME initiative |

|Identify and escalate risks to the PPM PRIME Project Manager |

|Attend weekly PPM PRIME Team Meetings |

|Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA) |

|Demonstrated understanding and experience of SCI financial systems, processes, procedures |

|Extensive experience in a financial management role in the field, working with diverse groups in multiple locations. |

|Relevant professional accounting qualification. |
