Computer Basics – Internet Safety
We will be using to create personal Web pages. The Web site that you create should only contain personal information – leaving out all private information, as discussed in class.
Web site Requirements: Your “personal” Web site should consist of the following
• Template – Choose a template that you want to work with. Your template can be changed at any time.
• Home page or Multiple Pages (tabs) – The main page, or “about you” page, should contain only personal information about you. Use your personal information collage to help generate ideas. This page should consist of the following information/elements:
o About Me – Title
o Five REQUIRED sections:
▪ Favorites
▪ Hobbies
▪ All About Me – Information about you and your family
▪ Two additional sections about topics of your choice
o Paragraph text
o Related Images
o At least one multimedia object
o Divider(s)
o Section headings
o Two-Column Divider
o Hyperlink – to existing, related Web page
o Majority of this page should be text (information) about you – not just a Web site full of pictures/videos. (80% text, 20% images/multimedia to enhance page)
