Introduction:

Welcome to the world of Pharmacy. You are entering into an occupation that is prestigious and provides many career options that could be quite rewarding and personally satisfying. As a Pharmacy Technician you will be working as part of the Health Care Team, assisting the Pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to individuals.

Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED

Textbook: n/a

Objective:

The learner will demonstrate understanding of the necessary skills to gain entry-level employment in the Pharmacy Technician field.

Student will develop and state their philosophy of pharmacy.

Course Description: Students will research Pharmacy Technicians employment opportunities and be given instruction on proper skills to obtain careers in this field. Some of these skills include, goal writing, resume writing and interviewing skills.

Course Requirements:

Students must attend > 80% of the scheduled class meeting times. Participation in class is required and is directly related to attendance.

Assignments: Reading assignments are expected to be completed IN ADVANCE of the assigned week. Work that is not completed during allotted time will be required for homework.

Exams/quizzes: One exam will be given on the last day of the course.
