Job Title: Research Associate/Fellow

Salary: £25,513 - £28,695 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £28,695 with relevant PhD).

Contract Status: Fixed Term for a period of 1 year

Hours of Work: Full Time

Location: School of Computer Science, Jubilee Campus

Reporting to: Dr Peter Blanchfield

Purpose of the New Role: To conduct scientific research in order to meet the objectives of the development of tools to support the diagnosis and treatment of amblyopia.

|1. |According to the specific appointment, to undertake research and development of tools to implement new concepts in |60% |

| |treating amblyopia. | |

|2. |To report research findings to the members of the research within the I-bit research group. To write research papers in |30% |

| |order to disseminate the research findings. To develop a track record of published research findings in internationally | |

| |leading peer-reviewed journals | |

|3. |To contribute to the strengthening of existing collaborations with others working in the development of computer based |10% |

| |treatments of amblyopia. | |

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

|Qualifications/ Education |PhD (or close to completion) in Computer Science especially |Design and development of advances in computer vision |

| |with knowledge of graphics, and areas of computer vision |or computer graphics. |

| |including tracking. | |

|Skills/Training |Computer programming for the production of computer |Understanding and development of computer games and |

| |graphics. |computer graphics especially the use of HLSL or other |

| | |shader languages and graphics API such as Open GL. |

|Experience |Previous research aligned to computer vision and or graphics|Published research articles in the area of computer |

Decision Making
