Don’t get Discouragement

2 Cor. 4:1 (KJV) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

INTRO:

I. THE DEVILS GOAL IS TO TAKE AS MANY TO HELL AS HE CAN

II. THOSE WHO GET SAVED HE WILL TRY TO DISCOURAGE

III. A DISCOURAGE DEFEATED CHRISTIAN IS OF LITTLE USE IN SOUL WINNING AND LIVING A VICTORIOUS LIFE IN THE LORD

(Ps. 42:5).

"Why art thou cast down, 0 my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God"

by Returning to the Lord

Mal. 3:7).

"Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts"

A. When discouraged,:

1. many Christians drift away from the Lord,

2. neglecting prayer, God's Word, and church attendance.

B. God's Word admonishes,

1. "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (James 4:8).

C. Say no to discouragement.:

1. Return unto the Lord.

2. Revive your prayer life and Bible meditation.

3. Restore your church attendance and support.

by RADIATING for the Lord

(Matt. 5:16).

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works"

D. Radiate means "to give forth or spread happiness, love" –

E. When discouragement strikes,:

1. Sometimes we spread gloom and doom.

2. We see only the bad:

a) in others,

b) the church,

c) in circumstances.

3. Say no to discouragement.

a) Replace negatives with positives.

b) Look for the good, not the bad.

[Romans 8:28]:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

by Relying on the Lord

(Ps. 37.-5).

"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass"

F. Some Christians rely on temporal possessions more than on God.

1. Others rely too much on people.

2. They come to disappointment.

(Ps. 73:28). It is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works,"

G. Say no to discouragement.

1. Rely on the Lord.

2. Depend on him.

a) He never disappoints or fails.

I. by Rejoicing in the Lord

(Phil. 4:4). "Rejoice in the LORD alway: and again I say, Rejoice"

A. Many Christians fall into discouragement

1. because they fail to offer enough praise to God.

2. They are too involved with selfish pursuits.

B. It is difficult, if not impossible, to rejoice in the Lord and be discouraged at the same time.

(Ps. 34:1). "I will bless the LORD at all times"

C. Say no to discouragement. Rejoice in the Lord today.

Psalm 91:15 (KJV) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
