Know and be able to explain:

• What plants need to survive

• A definition for photosynthesis

• Steps in the photosynthesis process, including what is required and what is produced.

• The plant-see cycle (see Flow Map in spiral)

• Multiple ways seeds can be dispersed

• State the parts of a flower and their purposes

• State the parts of a root and their purposes

• What is the basic unit of all living things

• Know the tropisms discussed: geo, hydro, photo, thigmo

• State the functions of the cell wall, nucleus, cell membrane, vacuole, xylem tissue, and phloem tissue

Be Able To:

• Label a plant cell diagram with the following parts: cell wall, nucleus, cell membrane and vacuole (see textbook p. 13)

• Label a flower diagram with the following parts: petals, stigma, style, ovary, ovules, stem, anther, and filament (see Flower Power worksheet)

• Label a root diagram with the following parts: xylem tissue, epidermis, root cap, and root hairs (see textbook p. 17)

• Write the scientific formula for photosynthesis (see textbook p. 22)
