FITNESS IS FUN

FITNESS IS FUN!! Journal

1st 9 weeks

Student’s Name: ________________ ____ Classroom: _______________

DUE THE WEEK OF October 2-6

(Please bring your journal to your Homeroom Class Teacher)

We are encouraging students to be “fit for life” by keeping track of their activity outside of school for 4 weeks. Fitness journals are required for ALL grades and will count as 10% of the Physical Education grade. Daily activity for 30 minutes is recommended for students in grades 3-5.

1. Check the table below to determine how many points you have to earn each day and record them on the calendar on the back. Points may be earned from one or several activities. If you do an activity that is not on the list, select the activity that is closest to it aerobically.

2. Try to average at least 15 points per week and earn 60 points in a 4-week period.

3. Once you reach your goal, you will turn the journal in to your classroom teacher, who will then give the journals to Physical Education teachers and you will receive a “toe token” for 4 weeks of recorded physical activity.
