ANG Officers may have to branch transfer to the Idaho Army National Guard due to availability of ANG AGR authorization limitations.MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: AFSC 42GX, 44XX, 48FX, or 46NXSALARY RANGE: PAY AND ALLOWANCE COMMENSURATE WITH MILITARY GRADEMAXIMUM EUMD-A (CIVILIAN MANNING DOCUMENT) GRADE: O-4 (Major)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------INITIAL AGR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:1. Applicant must become a member of the Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG) before entering the AGR program.2. AGR Airmen are subject to the provisions of ANGI 10-248, Air National Guard (ANG) Fitness Program until superseded by AFI 36-2905, Fitness Program. Airmen must meet the minimum requirements for each fitness component in addition to scoring an overall composite of 75 or higher for entry into the AGR program. For members with a documented Duty Limitation Code (DLC) which prohibits them from performing one or more components of the Fitness Assessment, an overall "Pass" rating is required.3. Individuals selected for AGR tours must meet the Preventative Health Assessment (PHA)/physical qualifications outlined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examination and Standards. They must also be current in all Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) requirements to include immunizations. RCPHA/PHA and dental must be conducted not more than 12 months prior to entry on AGR duty and an HIV test must be completed not more than six months prior to the start date of the AGR tour. Individuals transferring from Title 10 (Regular Air Force or Reserve Component Title 10 Statutory Tour) are not required to have a new physical unless the previous physical is over 12 months old at time of entry into AGR status.4. Applicants receiving or eligible to immediately receive a federal retirement annuity or a state annuity for service as National Guard technicians are not eligible for entry on an AGR tour.5. Applicant must be able to complete 20 years active Federal service prior to mandatory separation date (MSD) for officers, or age sixty for enlisted. Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis by NGB for exceptional circumstances. Approval will be limited to one six-year tour. Extensions will not be considered.6. Applicant must not have been previously separated for cause from active duty or a previous AGR tour.7. An applicant’s military grade cannot exceed the maximum military authorized grade on the UMD for the AGR position. Enlisted Airmen who are voluntarily assigned to a position which would cause an overgrade must indicate in writing a willingness to be administratively reduced in grade in accordance with ANGI 36-2503, Administrative Demotion of Airmen, when assigned to the position. STATEMENT EXPLAINING THE OMISSION OF ANY OF THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS NOT SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION.Position REQUIREMENTS:Responsible for rapidly deploying the Civil Support Team Medical section to a potential or actual WMD event. Provides specific medical information directly to the Incident Commander about the hazardous agent. Provides technical information about the causative agent, the associated signs and symptoms, and the acceptable treatmentincluding curative and palliative measures. Provides information on the scope of the hazard including real or potential after effects. Recommends a triage system based on the type of hazard and the number of estimated victims. Estimates casualty numbers. Discusses the number and types of medical personnel that will be required both at the incident site and at involved healthcare facilities to provide casualty care. Estimates the number and type of healthcare beds needed for victims. Identifies available follow-on medical support that may be of assistance to the Incident Commander or other DOD response element. Advises the Incident Commander on releasable medical information. Responsible for providing basic medical care for the 101st Civil Support Team both in garrison and while deployed to an incident site. Receives general and specific guidance from the Commander, and professional oversight from the State Surgeon. Also performs other additional duties as assigned.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:a. MILITARY EDUCATION: As required by the appropriate AF and ANG Instructions. AFSC qualified (MOS qualified if required to branch transfer). CBRN Defense Course graduate desirable. Completion of the Field Management of Chemical /Biological Casualties Course and have the L3 Technical Escort designator desirable.b. CIVILIAN EDUCATION:(1) Must have a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited College/University acceptable to the Department of the Air Force or Army if required to branch transfer due to AGR allocation. (2) Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and have been certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. (3) Must have knowledge of the organization and mission of the Army and Air National Guard.c. INOCULATIONS: Must take all inoculations, including Anthrax and Smallpox.d. MEDICAL: Requires pre-screening for the ability to work in Level A Personnel Protective Equipment with Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.e. Must meet additional medical standards required to be a member of the 101st CST WMD Team. f. RESIDENCE: Must reside within 90 minutes from Gowen Field for alert and deployment criteria.9. POSITION DESCRIPTION1. Serves as the primary medical authority for the CST providing basic, preventive and emergency medical care to CST members. 2. Administration of the WMD CST Medical Surveillance Program based on Public Law, U.S. DOL OSHA, DOD Directives, Department of Army, NGB and other applicable Federal/State regulations and standards. This includes managing the Occupational Health Program and Respiratory Protection Program.3. Administration of individual medical readiness (IMR) immunizations as well as immunizations recommended by the Military Vaccination Agency (MILVAX).4. Responsible for the maintenance and management control of the CST approved formulary and duties associated with ordering, storing and dispensing of formulary items.5. Provides specific medical information to the Commander about a hazardous event, technical information about the agent, associated signs and symptoms, acceptable treatment, potential after effects, and estimates casualty numbers. 6. Advises the Incident Commander on releasable medical information. Provides medical consultation support via electronic reach-back at the incident site. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:1. Will be required to weapons qualify with 9mm sidearm annually.2. Will take a physical fitness test semi-annually. Score of 80 (Air Force)/240 (Army) or better highly recommended.3. Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.4. Must have a valid military driver’s license, and be capable of operating the unit’s vehicles.5. Able to assume additional duties as assigned by the command group.6. Must be able to complete a minimum of three (3) years in AGR status assigned to the CST.Pre-Placement Examination1. The following outlines the ‘use’ test recommended IAW DA PAM 40-8 and 40-173 for pre-placement evaluation of an individual’s physical and mental ability to perform work involving potential exposure to WMD agents using respiratory Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).a. Applicants will be briefed on expectations of the tasking and given hands on training for the wear and use of level A PPE with Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). b. A medical and occupational history will be taken and a focused physical exam done on each individual to determine clearance for PPE use. Exclusion criteria will be used according to current operating procedures and any applicant who is deemed excluded by this criteria or is deemed by the medical provider to need further evaluation, will not don PPE.c. Once the individual is trained and medically cleared to don level A with SCBA they will perform the following tasks in PPE:(1) Carry a folded WMD shelter that weighs approximately 68 lbs, 50 feet with assistance.(2) Push a litter cart with a 160-200 lb load ? mile.(3) Walk without a load an additional ? mile(4) Upright a plastic 55-gallon drum ? full of water with assistance(5) Perform dexterity exercisesd. Total time in PPE will be approximately 35-45 minutes. Time and workload may be adjusted according to weather/temperature and safety conditions and will be at the discretion of the medical provider.e. All activities will be under the supervision of the team’s physician assistant. Emergency medical treatment supplies, to include ACLS capability, will be available on site. In the event emergency medical care is required the EMS system will be activated and any injured or disabled person will be transferred to the care of Ada County Paramedics. Unit medical personnel will provide emergency medical treatment for the purpose of stabilizing a patient while awaiting the arrival of EMS personnel.2. This confidence test is not a proficiency test, and failure to complete any of the tasks or failure to remain in PPE for the allotted time, does not infer the individual is ineligible for hire.
