FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hi Everyone,
(From Bonnie – I’m sorry, I forgot to get a report from Al this month, but I’m sure he would say that he hopes all are doing well, and our ‘Get Well’ wishes go out to Nancy Brailey and Cheryl Chalmers. Also, to be sure to check the Events calendar for the upcoming Visits and Events; with September almost here, these are starting to wind down. Don’t forget to drive your ‘old car to the next meeting as we are going cruisin’ for Ice Cream with Leon Delange leading the way. Take care, and see you all at the next membership meeting.

Coast Guard Festival – Sat. Aug 6 – Rosanne Lynch and Debbie Roop
A note from Roseanne on the parade:
Hi Bonnie,
Our day at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival Parade was fun. I was brave and optimistic, putting my convertible top down and boot on it. Some members of the parade said, “You know you have to put the top down, rain or shine.” After it stopped raining I put the top down, Debbie and I wiped down our cars. Matt Kirkwood from WOOD TV 8 looked at his weather radar and said I should probably put the top up. As I finished, it started to pour. As we moved forward to the parade and hit the busy line of spectators, Rachael, Morgan, Matt and Bill got out with their umbrellas as the rain slowed down to a drizzle, and walked the whole way. The crowd loved them, yelling to them and chatting with them. It was surprising as to how many people there were who stayed to watch. The organization was great; it all flowed very well.
Roseanne
Thanks again, Ruth & Cynthia

We currently have 12 ‘Life Time members’ and 58 paid families, giving us a total of 69 families in our club.
[pic] Dues are $20.00 per family for the year. They can be paid by check made out to GRACC and mailed to: Al Preisner at 7973 Ramsdell Dr NE – Rockford, MI 49341-8079. They can also be turned in at the next club meeting.
Note: we have blank applications and some fliers that you can pick up at the meetings. Keep them handy so that if you talk to someone who may be interested in joining, you’ll have contact information to give out.
Extra Newsworthy News
[pic]Upcoming New Directory of Club Members
You may have noticed that in this month’s newsletter there is a little something extra. It’s the info we have on you, the cars you have, committees and/or offices you do hold or have held in the past. All kinds of good stuff! We are getting ready to publish a new directory next year and we need to make sure the information we do have is correct. SO – please look the sheet over and make any needed changes and get them back to me. You can turn them in at the next meeting or mail them back. To mail, just fold it in three on the dotted lines, put a stamp on it and adhere the edges with some tape and put in the mailbox.
SPECIAL NOTE TO THE SNOWBIRDS: If you wish to receive the newsletter while in the ‘sunny’ south, be sure to include your Winter address at the bottom of the profile sheet.
You can call or e-mail me if you have any questions.
Thanks, Bonnie - (616) 997-6413 (or e-mail: jrw03@)
[pic] Annual Catered Picnic
Sunday, August 7th – at the Veterans Park in Coopersville. We had 71 adults and 4 children attending this year. ‘Donna’s Catering’ did a great job as always on the meal and a great thank-you to all those who brought desserts; there were some really good ones. We made $144 from the raffle with some good prizes going out to those whose tickets were drawn. The children each received a little something and there were 12 door prizes drawn. Bingo was played after the meal and all the raffle items and gifts were handed out. A special thank-you to Fred & Arlene Eisen for helping to set up and get ready for the group, and to Marsha Rossman and Nancy Johnson. We hope everyone had a good time and maybe we’ll see you next year.
