Principal Investigator with first-time homeowners, of immigrant Mexican heritage, living in a Habitat for Humanity Community: South Ranch II Family Study. Limited funding from the Kellogg Foundation and the Stardust Center for Affordable Housing and the Family, Arizona State University, 2006.

Consultant, ASU Prevention Research Center for Families in Stress: Funded by NIMH. Worked on the redesign of the New Beginnings Program. The center grant was intended to move interventions from efficacy to effectiveness trials and the study of processes needed to successfully implement interventions for broad public impact in natural service delivery settings. 7/1/2005- 6/30/2010. Co-PIs, Nancy Gonzalez and Irwin Sandler, Arizona State University, Psychology Department, 2005.

Co-Investigator, Ford Foundation Diversity Project: Climate Study in the College of Education assessing Graduate Student Experiences. Arizona State University: $14,000, 2004.

Co-Investigator, Predictors of persistence of college freshmen, funded by the National Association for College Admissions for $5000 and a grant from the university Graduate College for $5000. Involved six doctoral students, all on assistantships. 2002-2003. Study has led to multiple conference presentations by and with students and to date, 4 published manuscripts accepted.

Research grant through the ASU Women’s Studies Program ($1500). Funds supported travel to Las Varas, Nayarit, Mexico (north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My objectives were to learn about counseling practices that can be applied cross culturally, special issues introduced by individuals, couples, and families in a particular setting, and the use of alternative interventions (acupuncture) for alleviating emotional stress. Summer 2002.

Title VII Bilingual Bicultural Counselor Training Project: Preparation of master’s level bilingual bicultural community and school counselors. Funded by the Department of Education: $100,000. 1979-1983.
