THE CITY OF IOWA COLONY

is seeking applicants for the newly established position of Accountant. The person appointed by the Mayor to this position will be responsible to plan, direct, manage and oversee and perform accounting duties of the City of Iowa Colony in accordance with a job description that has been prepared for that position.

The Accountant should possess at least an Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. (Exceptional work experience may substitute.) Possession of a college degree in a related field is desirable, or in the alternative a history of continued growth in management and leadership responsibilities and a record of and continued desire for personal and professional growth opportunities. The Accountant should have at least 5 years' broad experience in governmental accounting, accounts receivables and payables, utility billing, budgeting and finance. Experience in capital improvements projects monitoring and compliance, as well as knowledge of state and federal grant and regulatory programs is also desired.
