Job Summary:

Oversees the maintenance of plant high voltage, substations, electrical, instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, process control computers and equipment. Serves as a primary contact for plant electrical, instrument and process control systems equipment repairs. Sets strategic objectives and plans resource allocations in conjunction with overall plant electrical and instrumentation maintenance and financial objectives. Directs the work of related maintenance employees. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

Essential Functions:

▪ Manages maintenance assets, personnel and achievement of plant maintenance related business goals. Oversees the delivery of plant electrical and instrumentation maintenance by way of maintenance-based business, technical and administrative leadership objectives. Develops and manages related budget and expenditures. Consults with Preventive Maintenance Manager to establish preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.

▪ Ensures effective health, safety, and environmental and preventative maintenance programs are in place to achieve plant and organizational goals and compliance with all related requirements.

▪ Provides leadership, coaching and expectations for setting plant maintenance electrical, instrumentation, team and individual goals that are aligned with the site and business strategy. Evaluates personnel performance. Recommends hires, promotions and disciplinary actions. Trains maintenance personnel as to methods and procedures, standards of performance, and other factors affecting work. Provides technical leadership for maintenance processes.

▪ Optimizes resource allocation and recommends methods for maintaining the plant, improving process equipment efficiency, performance and uptime. Coordinates maintenance and repair work with plant operations and maintenance.

▪ Promotes and drives Maintenance Excellence/Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program throughout the plant. Assists with the development of specifications and design for equipment purchases. Plans layout and design of

new electrical and instrumentation systems; modifies existing electrical, instrumentation and process control systems.

▪ Reviews and analyzes plant operating parameters, equipment reports and inspection records to identify faulty equipment. Inspects plant equipment at regular intervals and determines the functionality of processes, equipment for necessary repairs or modifications.

▪ Initiates requisitions for supplies, parts and materials and services. Communicates with various vendors, operations and engineering personnel regarding equipment specifications and purchases. Facilitates installation of new equipment.

▪ Maintains records and prepares reports associated with electrical and instrumentation infrastructure, including drawings, regulatory and procedural requirements, and safety assessments.

▪ Performs skilled maintenance work in emergency situations.
