Science Careers Paper and Presentation

A major portion of your 1st 9 weeks grade will be to complete a 2- 3 page paper on a science career and prepare a 3-5 minute PowerPoint presentation to present your career to the class. The following items must be included in your paper: 

 

1. Description of career: setting, hours, job duties? Describe a typical day in this career.

2. What education do you need to pursue this career? How many years of college? Graduate or professional school? Residency or other internship?

3. What is the average salary range for this career? What other benefits come with this career (travel, flexible hours, etc) Are there limits to the part of the country/world you can live in and do this job?

4. How does this career improve/impact the world? What ethical decision is one likely to face working in this career? How does this career further research, scientific advancement, or technology?

5. Your paper will be graded on spelling, grammar, format, works cited page ( SITE YOUR SOURCES). Your presentation in class will be graded on organization, completeness, attractiveness and how informative it is.               

The following are some possible careers, however if you find one that is not on here, see your teacher for approval. Within each class there will be no repeats, therefore sign up quickly for the Career you are interested in.
