AT HOME EDUCATION PACKKenwick School is providing you with a personalised work pack to use at home with your child. This pack will provide you with online resources, as well as suggested activities for in the home, and personalised work that is given to your child when they are at school. Your child’s Education is our main priority and we are providing this pack to ensure your child can continue their learning in the safety of their home if need be. Not all activities will suit all students, but hopefully there are some activities where students will benefit from. Making sensory items at home (see Sensory Learning Resource Book for recipes) Playdough – Roll, cut and shape the play dough or use different cooking implements to explore the dough.483391331696300Slime – Students can explore the feel of the slime. It can have small toys or blocks or glitter added for extra sensory experiences. Cloud dough – see play doughOobleck - Students can explore the feel of the Oobleck. It can also have small toys or blocks or glitter added for extra sensory experiences. You can read a copy of “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” as an introduction to the Oobleck. foam sensory play – Spray the foam into a container or on a surface. Student can use hands and feet to play with the foam.Draw in the shaving cream with a paintbrush.Mix through a few drops of food colouring.Add dinosaurs or rubber toys to the clouds of foam.Enjoy the swirly, gooey fun of exploring through the foam.Sand play - , pasta and beans – – With pasta maccroni and similar for items.Sensory Cooking – mixing, tasting, smelling, touching and listen to the sound of different food items.Jelly Play - Playing with Jelly is a sensory activity for kids to explore through their senses the many wonderful textures and qualities of jelly. Helping around the Home – Get your child to help with daily chores. E.g. folding a towel or washing a dish etc.Balloon tennis – using fly swatters (try cheap stores or perhaps Bunnings)Clothes line tennis- Fill a pair of stocking with scrunched up paper and hang it from the clothes or other suitable place and have your child hit it with a bat or racquet. Oral simulation activity - Blowing cotton balls, leaf, feather or balloon with a straw to move it.Listening walk – Walk around the the house or outside listening for sounds.Tactile walk or hunt – Go for a walk and use the five sense to explore the environment.
