Objectives:

To introduce basic SAP R/3 system functionality.

Exercises:

➢ Log-on to the SAP R/3 system

➢ Navigate within SAP R/3

➢ Create multiple SAP R/3 sessions

➢ Look at your user settings

➢ Use various types of help

➢ Functions of different icons

➢ Create a material master record

➢ Log-off the SAP R/3 system

To Get Started:

➢ Your lab instructor will explain the SAP log-on process.

➢ Complete the following exercises. You do not need to hand anything in to your instructor. The SAP R/3 system will track your progress as you execute the assignment. Your unique student number (XXX) for this exercise has been previously supplied to you by the instructor. This is for you ONLY. Do not share this number with anyone! Use the student number (XXX) as required during the exercise when asked for a student number.

Step 1—Log-on to the SAP R/3 system.

Click on the SAP icon on the Desktop

An SAP logon window will appear

Double click on the appropriate SAP Server icon

Enter:

Client = (supplied by instructor)

User Name = USER_XXX

Password = Password, a window will appear, change the password to your personal password. You will use this password every time you log on to SAP R/3. Remember this password.

SAP Easy Access Menu is displayed.

Step 2—Navigate within the SAP R/3 menu structure.

What menu items do you find when you access the Accounting menu?

Determine the transaction code for displaying a material in the material master record in Materials Management application under Logistics. How did you find the transaction code?

Enter this transaction code in the command field and enter. Where does this transaction code take you? Write the title of the screen.

Create a favorite for "display material master" record. How did you create the favorite?

Step 3—Create a second SAP R/3 session.

End the session and write how you terminated the session.

Step 4—Use various types of help: Glossary, R/3 library, field help.

Look in the glossary index to find the definition of Company Code.

Click on the Select Views button

Select the following views:

Basic Data 1 and 2

Purchasing

Purchase Order Text

General Plant Data/Storage 1 and 2

Accounting 1 and 2

Click on the Enter Icon

Organization Level pop-up window

Plant - 3000 copy from 3000

Storage Location - 0001 copy from 0001

Click on the Enter Icon

Basic Data 1

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Basic Data 2

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Purchasing

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Ignore message by clicking on Enter Icon

Purchase Order Text

No information is needed here

Click on the Enter Icon

Plant Data/Storage 1

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Plant Data/Storage 2

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Accounting 1

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Accounting 2

Accept the default values

Click on the Enter Icon

Save the data when asked to

Write down the message displayed on the Status bar.
