Below is a checklist that will help you compile the contents of your portfolio. Most of this information can be found in your SpringBoard, English Text, Level 4 pg. 226, Embedded Assessment 1.

Organize your anthology and bind it in this order:
• Cover Page
A visually appealing cover that contains a unique title and thematic visual
• Table of Contents
All parts of the portfolio listed with page numbers in order of appearance
• Introduction
Brief 1-pg autobiography to introduce your poetry anthology (see pg. 226, #7)
Focus your thoughts on what the reader needs to know about your life to better understand your poems.
• Original Poems with Visuals and Title
1. Frame Poem - “A Poem about a Poem” – (see pg.193)
2. “I am” poem
3. Catalogue Poem – Autobiographical
4. Extended Metaphor Poem (“Mother to Son”- Model)
5. Hyperbole Poem with Allusions
6. Theme Poem - Explore any abstract feeling, emotion or idea
(This poem must be marked and annotated. You will create marginal notes identifying the literary devices and explain your intended effects.)
