Based on student feedback, pop sockets were designed and given out at the Diversity Fair Driving simulator was utilized by studentsStudents had to tweet or share on social media that they pledge not to text and drive before receiving a pop socket or other giveaway During the week of prom, targeted enforcement was incorporated (WISO, State Patrol and Neenah Police Dept. helped out) A crashed car was placed at the front entrance to the H.S. and was a great talking pointApprox. 800 students at Diversity Fair; general student body saw targeted enforcement and crashed car Oshkosh North H.S.ONHS involved the student body in Teen Safe Driving by organizing an intriguing, entertaining, yet informative Kahoot during an excel period. Students engaged in the interactive questions and competed against each other to attain the highest points to earn the prizes given to us by various sponsors!? This Kahoot focused on safety trivia and drew attention to the major accident that happened on the 41 in the Neenah/Appleton/Oshkosh area in late February by including a video clip on the accident.? This translated into real conversations regarding the importance of safe driving.??Brandon Lloyd, student representative that lead the charge for his junior project for his community’s class, also created video clips for our TV-9 production and these aired weekly for the month of April.? His focus was on demonstrating safe driving around school, the community and especially on prom night.? He also wrote an article for the school newspaper and reached out to the local news stations.??Brandon and several of his friends spent time during lunch and during the school day to spread the message regarding safe driving.? They wore the T-shirts provided to us, while hanging posters, talking to students about safe driving, buckling their seat belts and putting away their cell phones while they drive.? They also handed out the cell phone holders, other T shirts, lanyards, on pop ups for phones.??The wrecked car drew a lot of attention, especially from our freshman class, as they have never witnessed it in person before this year.??All 1300 students viewed the Kahoot and were exposed to the videos and commercials on Tv-9. Approximately 100 items were distributed to random students who were acknowledge for demonstrating safe driving knowledge and 25 students were acknowledged for their top scores in the Kahoot.??Oshkosh West H.S.Ran the Prom campaign and made daily announcements, put up our signs around the building, had the smashed car, did the 100 yard line through a hallway with signs all over and did a lot of giveaways and daily announcementsAbout 1500 students participated.Omro: Officer Peters conducted safe driving breakout sessions. Did a student-led pop socket campaign and they got pop sockets as their learning tool. Got funding for a driving simulator company to come in with a vehicle. WinneconneParticipated in Crossroads Distracted Driving campaign. GOALS:Were asked to present Parents are the Key to the parents at Neenah HS.Want to get into the driver’s educational classes and educate the parents especially on GDL laws. Continue to pursue the participation of all local high schools. Choose your ride vehicle is being donated by Bergstrom Auto. ................
