School Compact for Learning
District and School-based Title I Parent and Family Engagement Programs in Polk County Public Schools will strive to BUILD RELATIONSHIPS in order to create real family engagement
for every child, every family, every teacher, every day.
This compact outlines how the parents/family, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. By linking learning, the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help our students
achieve the state's high standards for the school year.
We will support learning in the following ways;

Monitoring Student Progress
Promote family engagement by providing family night activities to promote reading, math, science, social studies, elective, and STEM education. Create a partnership with all families.
Recognize and provide for different learning styles and continually work on teaching strategies that can successfully teach all children. Provide timely feedback for students
Provide a suitable time and place for home learning and assist with reviewing/helping with home learning.
Reinforce what my child is learning in school and make sure that my child attends regularly and check progress on Parent Portal.
Be prepared to learn at school and home, attend school regularly, and be ready to begin on time.
Respect myself, the school, and others by being cooperative and using good manners. Complete assignments and turn them in in a timely manner and check progress on Student Portal.
Partnership Be Involved
Inform students and parents of school progress and school wide information. Allow students to monitor progress in agenda.
Be actively involved in my child's education by using Parent Portal, keeping an open line of communication between home and school by using the agenda, calling, or emailing teachers. Joining SAC, PTO, attending parent nights, and/or participating in writing the Parent Involvement Plan.
Strive to improve my schoolwork by trying my best and setting goals. Asking my parents and teachers questions when I need help.
Communication Stay Informed
Send information home in a timely manner, keep school website up to date, and email/call parents as necessary.
Devote time each day to talk about school with my child. Read with my child daily and discuss the reading topic. Check the school's website calendar for upcoming events.
Be dependable, read on my own, use the agenda to write down assignments, listen to announcements/morning show, read information sent home.
Learning Environment
Encourage students to attend school and be on time. Maintain a monthly volunteer and activity calendar to encourage parent involvement.
Set an example for learning at home by limiting television viewing, model reading, and practice math facts with my child.
Show enthusiasm towards school and maintain a positive attitude.
