Step 1: Go to website () and click on the button in the upper right corner titled Open Enrollment: Nov 5-Dec 13, it will send you to the School Options page. Review your school options and click the Parent Portal tab located in the red "Important" box. You may now log in to Parent Portal or select the Accessing Parent Portal, Creating an Account, Attaching Students or Resetting Your Password links.

Student with Polk Schools ID

New Student without Polk Schools ID (Incoming KG, Private, Homeschool, etc.)

Have an account registered, but need to add a child currently in a

Polk County public school

Log in to your Parent Portal account.

Visit: and select: I DO NOT have an Account Registered on

Parent Portal.

You must contact your current school and obtain your child's PIN number

before adding your child to your Parent Portal account. After obtaining your PIN, visit

focus/auth/

Select the child's name for which you are applying in the top right drop down bar.

To apply, go to the My Child tab on the main screen tool bar, select application from the options displayed.

Complete the application and select the schools you wish to apply for.

Enter all of the information required and submit.

Select: I would like to APPLY FOR ENROLLMENT for a new child.

Fill out all required fields in Apply for Enrollment and select Begin Application. It will send you to an

information page and click Next Page.

Select: I have an Account Registered on the Parent Portal but would like to

ADD A CHILD

Sign into your Parent Portal account.

Select: I would like to ADD A CHILD who is already enrolled

When you are done click Save or Save & Print.

Read the information on the Directions page and click Next Page. Complete each page. It will consist of general student information, address, contacts

and contact options.

Complete the required fields of the student information page and click

Add Student.

You will receive a confirmation email with your application number included.

Read Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement of Truth. Click Submit and Finish. If you have other children to add, follow the steps for each child. If you are done adding children, click I am FINISHED adding

students. It takes you to the Portal main page.

tab on the main screen tool bar, select the application from the options displayed.

General Information

? Schools will need to verify all information including contacts, parental rights, etc. when enrolling a child.

? Parents that have a child currently enrolled in Polk County Public Schools, but have not attached the child to their Parent Portal account must obtain a PIN number from their current school before applying.

? Accepting a magnet/choice school removes you from the other waiting pools. ? Parents must have updated/current information in Parent Portal for the correct schools

to automatically populate. If their address is wrong, they must attend their zoned school to have the address corrected. ? If parents are moving later in the year, they must apply next year. You must be at your residence during the time of applying. ? Parents have 10 days to make a decision if they are accepted. If they do not respond, they are removed from the accepted list and all other waiting pools for which they applied. ? If a parent declines a magnet/choice acceptance, they stay in all other lottery pools for which they applied. ? The ranking order process does not affect the way the lottery is conducted. It just helps us track information. ? Starting February 1, it is recommended that parents check their email weekly for acceptance updates and notifications. ? If the parent does not have an email address, they will need to create one. ? If the parent does not have access to the internet, they will need to use their public library, community center or the school.
