US History: The Roaring 20s

The 1920s was an era of tremendous social change for almost all Americans. It is your task to demonstrate your knowledge of this eventful and tumultuous era by creating a 1920s magazine. You will be divided into 1-2 person groups for this project Your magazine must inform a visitor to the U.S. about the following topics. Make sure your magazine includes the following elements:

o A creative & interesting cover for your magazine

o Fashion

1-2 pages on fashion trends, for both men & women. Pictures and articles should be included.

o Sports

You need to have one article about a famous sports hero or sporting event of the 1920s. The article needs to include at least 1 picture and should be at least 1 page double spaced.

Make sure you mention the movie’s stars and the movie is about. Make sure it is at least ½ page long and ORIGINAL – don’t copy someone else’s review. You will receive two full class periods, plus a few partial periods to work on the project in class. After that, all work will be done outside of class. Please ask for media center flex passes if you need more time at school. You will turn in your completed magazine on ___________________________.

Your magazine needs to be in a report cover, binder, folder, etc........with every page included and in order. One rubric needs to be included at the end of the magazine. Make sure your magazine is completely ready to turn in on the due date!
