AGE STRUCTURE PYRAMIDS
An age structure pyramid gives the number of percentages of individuals in each age group, separated by gender. The pre-reproductive age is considered 1-14, reproductive ages are 15-44 and post-reproductive ages are 45+. The number of reproductive females determines the fertility rate and the number of births. Populations with large numbers of females in this group, or females ready to move into this group, have a high reproductive potential.
