Job DescriptionJob titleProgramme ManagerTeamChangeBand5Reporting toChange DirectorManagement responsibilityNot initially, but potentially in the future.Purpose of the jobTo work as part of the Change Management team, managing a portfolio of projects (approximately 5-6 per annum) at various stages of a project delivery lifecycle that impact multiple business areas; ensuring that competing priorities are effectively managed to result in successful delivery of the projects within agreed timescales, scope and budget.Main dutiesLead on specific areas contributing to the development of the Change Function within the Change Management TeamLead a small team of project managers, business analysts and business product owners to ensure successful delivery of your portfolio of projectsParticipating in annual planning of the Change Management Portfolio, programme planning and project planning as well as managing to a budget for staff and CapexManaging expectations and relationships, managing key sponsors and business stakeholders during project deliveryCreating and maintaining effective relationships with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Risk and IT to facilitate effective communications and delivery of the projectsManaging a portfolio of projects within the agreed governance structure and processes of the Change Management FrameworkBudget and resource forecasting for each project within the portfolioTracking, prioritising and resolving issues and risks throughout the delivery processManaging Third Party deliverables and relationships in line with contractual obligations Providing effective and timely reports to the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and stakeholders to ensure they are kept up-to-date at all stages throughout the project lifecycleKnowledge and experienceMust have experience of managing regulatory and compliance projects e.g. GDPRA background in financial services is desirableExperience of delivering technology change and understanding what good design, development and test look like to enable robust discussions with technology resources and suppliers on the projectExperience of working in a complex corporate culture or rapidly growing businessExperience of running senior stakeholder meetings e.g. steering groups as well as workshops to facilitate an agreed decision/ outcome.Broad business knowledge including commercial, financial and technical awarenessThe ideal candidate will be a senior project manager looking to take the next step in their career or someone who has been in a programme management role that wants to be part of a small, growing business with a fantastic causeBe a self-starter and take ownership for delivery of the projects in your portfolio. Know when to bring in senior sponsors/change management influence and know when to use your own influence to manage stakeholdersBe able to balance task orientation with people orientation i.e. focus on delivery of the plan, but not to the exclusion of all else, be able to influence the people that work with you on a projectBe commercially astute; have some experience of commercial negotiations with suppliers that you can draft/input into first versions of a contract for project delivery of e.g. new application softwareInternal and external stakeholdersInternal:Change DirectorCOOIT DirectorHead of ProcurementSMT executive sponsorsBusiness leads (Senior managers and directors in the business)Key competencies/behavioursAbility to engage in open, honest conversations with members of the Senior Management Team, peers and junior colleagues when discussing project performance, risks and issuesMust be able to balance ‘doing it themselves’ with delegation and work with their teams to get the job done Good Microsoft office skills are a must including PowerPoint, Excel and Project; specifically, the individual must be able to craft good presentations and have experience of using infographics/pictures to bring a concept or idea to life. Equally they must be able to run basic look-ups, pivot tables and be able to interrogate data in Excel. Excellent MS project planning skills is essentialQualificationsRelevant qualification such as Prince 2, APMP, PMI, MSP etcAdditional / desirableIs this a regulated role?No ................
