NCWRC encourages you to use these specifications when making your purchases.Personal Computer (Desktop or Laptop) – Minimum Requirements:Processor:Intel Pentium or AMD at 1+ GHz clock speed.Operating System:Windows 7 (or higher) WRC will no longer be able to provide technical support to agents using equipment that does not meet the minimum requirements.Software:ALVIN is compatible with most current Internet browsers including Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. WRC recommends using the most updated version of the Internet browser of your choice as it must support TLS 1.2 or higher to operate ALVIN. WRC will be unable to provide technical support for agents using old versions of any browser.Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 9 or higher (available free at ).RAM:Minimum 512MB or more recommended.Fixed Disk Drive:50Mb free disk space.PortsNCWRC laser printers use a USB cable. It is the agent’s responsibility to purchase an A B USB cable (shown below).USB Device Cable (6’)Monitor:At least 15” at 800 x 600 minimum. 17” at 1024 x 768 or larger recommended.Peripherals:Keyboard & mouse (cabled or wireless).Support & Maintenance:NCWRC will NOT provide computer technical support or maintenance services. Agents are encouraged to discuss computer technical support and maintenance with the vendor prior to making a computer purchase. NCWRC recommends agents use high-speed Internet service for faster and more reliable service. High-speed access is generally more suitable in a business environment where taking care of customers quickly and efficiently is a priority.Dial-up:Dial-up is acceptable, but not recommended. Dial-up users are encouraged to install a dedicated telephone line in order to optimize system performance and customer service.Agents are not required to purchase a laser printer. NCWRC will provide a laser printer and related supplies to agents who plan to use the printer for agent related purposes only and their computer is compatible with the printer installation requirements (see specifications below).Agents who wish to provide their own laser printer and related printer supplies may do so provided the printer meets the minimum requirements listed below. High volume sales agents may opt to purchase a more robust, higher quality printer for optimal performance.Laser Printer – Minimum Requirements:Type:Laser with sheet feeder.Size:Must accept 8.5” x 11” paper up to 30 pound perforated stock.Color:Black & White.Print Capability:Single-sided. Duplex printing is not necessary.PeripheralsPrinter cable that connects to the computer must be compatible with the computer used to process agent transactions (USB Cable).SuppliesNCWRC will not provide printer supplies (example: toner cartridges) for agent owned printers.
