Possessive Adjectives

Possessive adjectives show ownership. They are used like adjectives and go before a noun in a sentence.

There are no apostrophes used with possessive adjectives. This is Sam's book. This is his book.

Underline the possessive adjective in each sentence.

1. Hello. Welcome to my house. 2. We have four bedrooms and two bathrooms in our

house. 3. First, this is our kitchen. 4. Our kitchen has its very own fireplace. 5. The next room is our dining room. 6. The big blue chair is my father's. His chair sits at the

end of the table. 7. My two brothers sit on the other end of the table.

Their chairs are next to our mom's chair. 8. Then we have our living room with its built-in T.V. This

is my favorite room. 9. I sit on the couch. That is my special spot. 10. Our mom sits in the rocking chair with her favorite

blanket. 11. The boys usually sit on the floor with their pillows. 12. Upstairs, my brothers share a bedroom. Their

bedroom is always messy. 13. My bedroom is next to their bedroom. 14. My parent's bedroom is across the hall. They have

their own bathroom. 15. The last bedroom belongs to my dad. It's his office.
