Instructions for the Day After, and Weeks Following, Your Lens SurgeryEye Drops:ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE INSTILLING YOUR EYE DROPS.Sit or lie down and look up. Gently pull down the lower eyelid and put the drop into the “pocket” created. Do not touch anything to the tip of the bottle. Separate all drops by at least 5 minutes.1.Diclofenac(Gray Cap)1 drop, 3 times a day for 2 weeks2.Prednisolone Acetate(Pink/White Cap)1 drop, 3 times a day for 2 weeks3.Other: _________________________________________________________Please contact your pharmacy if you run out of any dropsWhat NOT to do AFTER surgery:NO driving until the doctor has informed you that you may drive.NO lifting objects more than 20 pounds for the first week.NO swimming or putting your head under water during the first week. This includes lakes, oceans, ponds, rivers, pools, hot tubs and spas.NO strenuous aerobic exercise for the first week.NO rubbing the eye directly for the first week.NO eye makeup for the first week.NO alcoholic beverages for 24 hours.AVOID bending with your head below your waist for the first week.What you CAN do AFTER surgery:There are no restrictions for watching TV, reading, using the computer or going up and down stairs.LIGHT exercise is okay beginning the day after surgery.It is okay to wash your hair in a shower beginning the day after surgery.It is okay to bend down to put socks and shoes on while sitting during the first week.General InformationWear the eye shield while sleeping for one week.For the first 24 hours after surgery, it is not unusual to experience double vision. Objects may appear slanted and may have a pink cast. Your vision may also be blurry for a few days after surgery. You may also notice floaters in your vision that may appear cloud-like.Mild discomfort, scratchiness, swelling or redness can also be expected.
