Is it easily opened? Describe the opening procedure. The package is easily opened. Perforations in the cardboard allow it to be ripped open and the plastic cover is easily bent back, even by a kid. To open it one splits the back of the package along the perforations and then pushes the brush up and out of its plastic shell. A small plastic insert in the package used for rigidity is discarded.DATA SHEET 1aTeam #:6Getting Ready for Dissection: Part I (cont.)Manufacturer/Product Name: Oral-B Stages Power Wall-eProduct Features: Provide team’s collective opinion related to features of the product using the following list as a starting point.Packaging (including information insert)Cardboard-backed, form fitting plastic package. The back of the cover has perforations for easy opening. On the front of the cardboard, there are product logos and on the flipside there are instructions for use of the product. The plastic portion of the package is made of a recyclable material, PVC. The instructions are listed in both English and French.Aesthetics (multi-color, etc.)The package has shades of blue, green, and white with the logos in a child-pleasing font. The character “Wall-e” is prominently displayed along with the Oral-B Stages Power logo.Cleaning – of teethThe device handles very well. The cleaning action is easily felt and since it is motorized, it probably removes stains well.Cleaning – of brushThe brush is easy to clean, just like a manual brush. However, there are some spots where toothpaste or other debris could become stuck.On/off switch location The location of the switch is in a spot where both children’s and adult’s thumbs will be able to find it easily, even in the dark. Ease of switch useThe switch is easy to use. It has raised bumps that make it easy to use in the dark.Battery location The battery is located at the bottom of the brush. To access the battery, one must remove a small Phillips head screw and twist a small circular door counter clockwise. A small child could most likely not do this. The included AA battery is an alkaline Duracell.Handle (Ergonomics)The toothbrush’s handle is designed to be aesthetically pleasing, but it lacks some comfort and security. The handle is designed to be kid-sized. It’s small for adult hands.QualityThe device was made in China. The brush is well-put together, and nicely colored, but the cleaning head’s motor could be a little stronger. The device is not UL or ADA approved.SafetyThe device is extremely safe. There is almost no way to harm your mouth or your person when it is used correctly.Versatility, attachmentsThe device can also be used to clean the tongue. No attachments are available.Weight with batteries.194 lbs. or 88 grams or .01 stones or 3 ounces Environmental friendlinessThe environmental friendliness of the device is unknown.
