Create an E-card in PowerPoint

Valentine Card

Slide 1:

• Insert sound effect (music—30 second clip) and set to play for entire presentation (RC speaker, click Effect Option)

• Hide speaker (scoot off slide)

• Text that has entrance color typewriter effect—“Happy Valentine’s Day”

• Heart autoshape 3D

• Apply entrance effect—zoom

• Apply emphasis effect—speed set to very fast—grow/shrink (RC Effect Options, Autoreverse)

• Add beating heart sound effect (RC Effect Options, Sound, Other Sound)

• Create arrow (Drawing toolbar) and edit with line tool (Control to nudge; change to 6pt white). Group object. (helps to zoom to 200% on this!)

• Animate arrow to fly in from bottom left (fast)

• Order arrow so that it is behind the heart

• Add textbox—You’re Always in My Heart (animation entrance to boomerang, medium speed)

Slide 2:

• Add textbox—You Have Been From the Start!”

• Create two 3D heart balloons (use scribble for string); set custom animation to entrance (fly in from bottom--fast), emphasis (teeter—medium), and exit (fly out to top—fast).

Slide 3:

• Copy the heart and arrow from Slide 1 and paste to a new slide

• Remove all animation

• Set transition between slides (your choice)

• Add text using the scribble tool and set entrance animation to Plus (fast).

• Insert clipart of lips and set emphasis animation to Flash Bulb (very fast)—OPTIONAL: Add kiss sound

← Rehearse timings… make it last 30 seconds, the length of the song! Save. If set to run as kiosk, it will start over and replay until Escape is pressed. (Slideshow, Set Up Show, Browsed as kiosk)

← Save As PPS format for distribution (via e-mail, etc.). (File, Save As, filetype PowerPoint show)
