That growth is fueled as enterprises of all sizes migrate workloads and services in order to take advantage of cloud scale, economies, and innovation. The Azure Fast Start for IaaS Foundation aims at introducing customer aboutto the basics of connecting on-premises networks and Microsoft Azure and create a foundational hybrid cloud capability. It delivers a general purpose education for providing Infrastructure-as-a-Service cross-premises and focuses on optimized hosting capability for common enterprise Virtual Machine (VM) patterns. After the engagement is over, the customer will be equipped with a better insight on what IaaS Foundation can bring to its organization, as well as hands-on experience to help you quickly acquire knowledge and skills to design and deploy on Microsoft Azure2Engagement Process FlowThe Accelerate package: Azure Fast Start for IaaS Foundation follows a 2-stage process, consisting of a Workshop and an onboarding accelerator engagements over 4 days: Accelerate packageGoalIaaS foundation Educate: WorkshopMicrosoft Azure Overview- 6hMicrosoft Azure Virtual Machines (VMs)- 1hMicrosoft Azure Networking- 2hOperate: Onboarding acceleratorSetting Up the Microsoft Azure Site-to-Site VPN & Point-to-Site VPN- 5hSetting Up the Microsoft Azure Point-to-Site VPN- 5hExtending On-Premises Active Directory to Microsoft Azure-5hOptional: Automation introduction with PowershellPowerShell (optional)- 4hPrior to PFE engagement, the TAM and customer will plan the services to be delivered. This session may be carried out in-person or remotely. The key outcome is to plan the overall set of services to be delivered, including timelines, schedules, and availability of customer resources. Before getting started, the TAM must obtain background information about the customer, including the customer’s technical and organizational structure, along with logistical information to ensure the engagement can be delivered effectively and within the allotted timeframe. TAMs also need to ensure that customer is able to fulfill all the prerequisites before the PFE engagement. The last module (Automation introduction with Powershell) is purely optional and can be deployed if time allows for it.Dependency of ServicesIt is important to deliver a set of individual Services which drive toward the customer outcome. While Microsoft may view each of these Services independently—and the Services may be delivered by multiple, independent resources—the customer will view these Services as steps in the overall process. As a result, it is important to ensure information from each of the individual Services is available to resources delivering other phases of the scenario; each engineer or consultant should leverage previous efforts and ensure we do not create information redundancy or cause unnecessary data gathering during customer sessions. However, because of the limited duration of the engagement (~4 days) and the integrated nature of the services, we advise that the same Microsoft Resource or consultant be used to deliver both services on-premises.Deliver - Education ServiceThe Azure Fast Start for IaaS Foundation Workshop aims at helping customers expand their on-premises data center infrastructure to the cloud into Microsoft Azure and create a foundational hybrid cloud capability. Additionally it educates customer on storage management and virtual networking for Microsoft Azure. It consist of 3 modules (All slides need to be retrieved from the WorkshopPLUS: Azure on IaaS):Module 1: Microsoft Azure Overview (To be retrieved from Module 1 in WorkshopPlus: Azure on IaaS)Module 2: Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) (To be retrieved from Module 2 in WorkshopPlus: Azure on IaaS)Module 3: Microsoft Azure Networking (To be retrieved from Module 3 in WorkshopPlus: Azure on IaaS)InputsOutputsNone required, general education sessionNo major ‘leave-behind’ deliverables are included with the Workshop. Duration & Location: About 9 hours, on-site engagement.Deliver – OperateThe Azure Fast Start for IaaS Foundation Onboarding accelerator is a?direct engagement with a Microsoft engineer (PFE) who works with the customer to provide deployment or migration assistance pertaining to IaaS Foundation. For this service, the customer will get the following deliverables:Setting Up the Microsoft Azure Site-to-Site VPNSetting Up the Microsoft Azure Point-to-Site VPNExtending On-Premises Active Directory to Microsoft Azure:Provision a New Virtual MachineInstall a Replica Domain Controller in Microsoft Azure Virtual NetworkProvision a domain joined virtual machine on boot Automation introduction with PowershellPowerShell (optional)Details and mechanics of the deployment are available in the implementation guide for the onboarding accelerator IP.InputsOutputsNone RequiredRunning Proof-of-concept on customer’s environment.Duration & Location: About 19 hours, on-site engagement.Report – Fill up Fast Start Delivery ReportIt is paramount to fill up the Fast Start Delivery Report (add hyperlink) once the service deployment is done.
