September 2012 Prayer Focus: For Campus Ministries

• Pray that every college and university campus around Canada will have an evangelical witness.

• Pray for greater and more far-reaching impact for Pentecostal campus workers as they serve on multiple campuses across Canada and internationally.

• Pray that Christian university students will be strengthened in their relationship with God and protected from spiritual attack and temptation.

• Pray that they will be fully prepared to share the hope they have with those who are still in darkness.

• Pray that God will direct their decisions and lead each one into an understanding of His purpose for their lives.

Thanks to all of the church who have already begun ordering Pray Every Day materials for this year. We encourage those who have not done so to place orders shortly, as supplies are limited.

IRAN

Twin earthquakes, measuring 6.4 and 6.3, struck northwest Iran on Saturday (August

11), killing more than 300 people and injuring 3,000. Thousands of people have been left

homeless and the search has now been called off for survivors. Please pray for God’s

love and comfort to reach all of those people affected, especially families and friends of

those who were killed. Pray that everyone’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs

would be met, and that there will be opportunities for the gospel to spread. Pray also that

aid supplies will quickly get to where they are needed most.

Harlyn & Helene Purdy

MALAWI

“Helene and I have entered a season of intense spiritual warfare. Much of the last two

nights have been spent in prayer. The ministry is seeing many wonderful things happen.

There are also a number of critical issues needing attention. We are asking that you

cover us in prayer at this particular time. I cannot go into detail, but the level of spiritual

warfare here right now is intense.”

Please pray for wisdom, guidance and spiritual enablement for Harlyn and Helene.

Pray for their protection from witchcraft and demonic attacks. Pray for their safety

on the roads, in the villages and the cities. Pray also that they will remain healthy

and strong as well as be encouraged during this time.

Irving Whitt

GLOBAL ED

Praise God that Irving’s surgery on August 8 went well and the tumour was removed

from his pancreas during the eight hour procedure. He is now recovering at home.

Please continue to pray for Irving’s recovery and complete healing. Pray also for

continual strength, encouragement and comfort for Irving, Ruth and all of their family and

friends.

PHILIPPINES

Please continue to pray for the Philippines which has now been struck by another

tropical storm which has caused more flooding and landslides. The country had already

been experiencing widespread flooding, killing 95 people so far. ERDO is responding

with emergency supplies – clean water and rice to assist 600 families (3,600 people) and

an emergency feeding and mosquito net program for children in two areas of Manila.

Please pray for global workers Marilyn Curtis and Linda Veldhuizen as they oversee the

response. ERDO is also partnering with Canadian Churches in Action as part of a larger

response to shelter and water needs. Please remember ERDO in prayer as staff seek to

respond to those in desperate need at this time. Pray that He will continue to comfort

and encourage the people of the Philippines during this difficult time.

The Missions Hotline is sent weekly from The PAOC International Office in Mississauga, ON. Send in your requests to Kevin Brown: kbrown@. For change of e-mail address or to be added to the distribution list, contact Rev. Dave McConnell at: poppa@.
