The courses offered through the Early Parenting and Childbirth Education program at the Center for Women’s Health are often covered by medical insurance. Below are some facts that may help address questions regarding Childbirth Education course expenses:Participants using Medicaid and/or Oregon Health Plan should contact Childbirth Education directly at birthing@ohsu.edu or 503-418-1967 to arrange for registration.Many of our courses are covered by health insurance. Reimbursement depends entirely on the individual insurance plan specifications which means we cannot offer any guarantee of coverage.For patients/students using private insurance:Childbirth Education/OHSU does not bill insurance or reimburse participants directly.If you would like to utilize your health insurance benefits, we recommend that you prepay the course fees then submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance company. This is the receipt that should be submitted to your insurance company as proof of payment.
