PRESCHOOL CALENDAR AND EVENT INFORMATION

Preschool and school events are posted on the calendar on the home page of the school website (sfa-). Parents are asked to use the web calendar as a primary source of information, because sometimes events are rescheduled and our online calendar will always contain the most up-to-date information. Each month, preschool parents will also be provided with a monthly calendar specific to preschool so that you know what events are happening in a clear and concise fashion. In addition, newsletters will be sent home so that you know in more detail what your little one is doing at school.

Parents are also asked to sign up for the email version of our school’s weekly newsletter, With One Voice. To sign up, please visit the school home page and click on “Parents” and “Subscribe to Mailing List.”

Additional Information:

† Morning Drop Off: Children in the 2s class must be walked directly into the classroom by a parent or guardian. Children in the 3s, 3/4s, and 4s class are encouraged to join us on the white top by 8:00am to take part in morning announcements and the Pledge of Allegiance. If you arrive after 8:00am, please walk your child into the building. If you arrive after 8:15am, your child will be tardy and parents must check in at the office.

o Please Note: Preschool students may NOT be dropped off through the car line. They must be walked to the white top or to their classroom by an adult.

† Afternoon Pick Up:

o Full time students: Parents may meet the class by the white top door for dismissal at 2:30pm. If you are later than 2:35pm, your child will be brought back into school and after care drop in rates will apply.

o AM Students: Parents may meet their child at the Chesterfield Ave. entrance for morning pick up. (Please note, the 4s class may be dismissed from the playground, weather permitting). Dismissal of morning students will be promptly at 11am.

† Lunch and Snack: ALL students must bring a snack to be enjoyed in the morning. Full Day students must also bring a lunch and drink in a lunchbox. Please label ALL lunch boxes and containers. We cannot put lunch boxes in refrigerators so please include an ice pack to keep items cold.

† Tote Bags: Each child will be given a fabric tote bag to be used as their “book bag”. This bag needs to be brought to school each morning and taken home each evening and emptied of contents. The children will be given time to decorate their tote bags as they wish.

† Playground Use: The playground at St. Francis is designated for use by the students during school and aftercare programs only. The playground is adjacent to the convent and is not a public playground. For this reason, parents are asked to refrain from taking children onto the playground to play.
