Dear Parents,
Welcome to Preschool! I have planned a year full of fun and learning. The following is a list of supplies your child will need for the school year.
• 10 large glue sticks
• 1 change of clothes (including socks and underwear) in a large freezer bag clearly labeled
• 1 full size backpack (labeled with your Child’s Name)
• 3 boxes of Kleenex for the classroom
• 2 large containers of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
• Please do not bring any toys from home unless it is on show and tell day (Wednesday)
If and only if your child is remaining for Extended Care:
• 1 lunch box with an ice pack (labeled with your Child’s Name)
• 1 SMALL pillow (airplane size)
• 1 SMALL blanket (Please see example on Meet the Teacher Night)
It is very important that you sign your child in and out of the classroom every day. This is a state requirement, so please do not send your child in alone.
The classroom doors will open at 8 am. Please try to have your child in the classroom by 8:15 so that he/she has plenty of time to get a drink, use the bathroom, etc. and get ready for the start of our day at 8:30 am.
Our school day ends every day at 12:00 pm. The gate to the school courtyard will remain locked until 11:50. If you ever need to get to the classroom before that, you may enter through the school office. We will dismiss your child to you outside the classroom. We have Chapel services on Friday mornings from 8:30 - 8:50 am. Parents are very welcome to join us for these brief worship services. If you are running late on Fridays, please bring your child straight over to the church.
Please check your child’s backpack daily for notes and projects. Occasionally there will be important dated material sent home that requires a response from you. Every week there will be a weekly newsletter sent home called the “Emmaus Chronicle”. This newsletter will cover school news and will also have a section for preschool news. Our website, , can also be used to help keep you informed about what is going on at school and in the classroom.
