The President and Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall management and leadership of Toronto Community Housing Corporation ("TCHC") and its subsidiaries, setting the strategic direction and driving total performance consistent with the interests of the Shareholder, tenants, employees and other stakeholders. The President and Chief Executive Officer is accountable to the Board of Directors for achieving TCHC's mission and for creating an organization capable of sustainable value to its tenants and the City of Toronto. This position requires an understanding of the values and objectives of a social housing organization that is demonstrated by a clear vision and a commitment to support those objectives.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree

Working knowledge of business real estate management, experience in not for profit/government, development experience and social housing as an asset. Working knowledge of all relevant legislation. Knowledge of public housing programs.

20 years of business experience, including several years of experience at an organizational leadership level.

Accountable to the Board and Shareholder for the development and execution of a long term corporate strategy. - Ensures TCHC achieves its mission; - Develops sound capital and operating plans; - Embodies the values of TCHC, sets the "tone at the top", recognizes and rewards success; - Fosters a culture of accountability and integrity ; - Acts as a final decision maker under the Board's delegation of authority and ensures all operations are conducted in full compliance with laws, regulations and TCHC's Code of Conduct; - Works with the Chair to develop relevant and engaged discussions at the Boardroom table and ensures that information is provided in a timely and effective manner. This includes implementing and overseeing governance processes for appropriate delivery of board information and reports; - Implementation of robust, timely and accurate reporting to the Board on key financial and operation metrics; and - Ensures that information is provided to TCHC's Shareholder in a timely and effective manner.

Establishes and oversees the organization operational process. - Monitors, evaluates and ensures continuous improvement of core business functions; - Sets an operational philosophy that is performance driven and maintains an environment of high employee engagement; - Fosters a climate of tenant focus and collaboration; - Develops and maintains key stakeholder relationships; - Strengthens the positive public profile/image of TCHC; and - Ensures an appropriate level of transparency in all business transactions.

Key Responsibility

Build a high impact, high performance leadership team in order to successfully execute TCHC's long term strategy. - Ensures overall effective leadership and management of the organization; - Develops and motivate senior executive team through leadership development and succession planning; and - Delegates' authority and responsibility for strategic initiatives and individual tasks.

Foster tenant engagement and Community Partnerships. - Fosters the development of healthy and safe communities; - Promotes tenant engagement practices and tenant participation in planning and problem solving; and - Advocates strong collaborative community partnerships.

Key Responsibility

Develop strategies for the management of all stakeholder relations in order to support, engage and interface with all stakeholders in a positive manner. - Serves as chief spokesperson for TCHC, communicating with the Shareholder, tenants, employees, financial and investment community, development community, commercial partners, customers, governments, the media and other relevant stakeholders - Promotes TCHC internally and externally.

Key Responsibility

Responsible for TCHC's overall risk profile and appropriate management of related controls. - Develops and maintains an organization risk profile; - Ensures proper controls are in place to manage risk; and - Develops an appropriate risk diversification plan within approved risk appetite.

Working Conditions

Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of senior executive positions. Exposed to stress and pressure associated with senior level responsibilities;

Leadership role in leading residents and staff in adverse conditions (ie. Power outages, floods, fires and severe weather);

Exposed to inclement weather, dust, noise and physical environmental hazards thus requiring steel toe boots and hardhat at times;

Frequent travel within the GTA - car access or public transit; and Frequent evening and weekend community engagement events/meetings that support company

initiatives.
