|Purpose of Job |

|To be a key lead in the strategic planning process for WAES and provide inspirational leadership that enables the Service to achieve its’ vision to be the |

|‘best education and training provider in Central London’ by: |

|Developing responsive, high quality and innovative support services that effectively support learners and staff to deliver the key objectives of the |

|Service. |

|Leading on, advising and supporting the Principal/Head of Service and Board of Governors in the business management of the Service. |

|Working with the Assistant Principal Education and Training to ensure that WAES achieves its KPI’s in relation to funding targets and income. |

|Ensuring robust management information to enable the Service’s finances to be effectively planned and robustly managed. |

|Further developing transformational marketing strategies and services to raise the profile of the Service locally and regionally. |

|Ensure the learner’s journey into the Service is accessible, welcoming and responsive, providing robust advice, guidance and a high quality service. |

|Further developing the digital capabilities of the Service to enhance and innovate our services and programme delivery to learners and other stakeholders. |

|Deputise for the Principal/Head of Service and represent the Service at external events as required. |

|As an Executive Board member to take collective responsibility with colleagues for delivering the Service’s Strategic Plan and objectives, with particular |

|responsibility for ICT, management information, marketing and the learner experience service. |

|To be responsible for the strategic leadership, management and development of the Service’s provision within the responsibilities of this role ensuring that|

|the quality of delivery is of the highest standard. |

|To provide strategic and specialist funding advice to the Board of Governors and Resources Committee through the provision of high quality analysis, reports|

|and dessimination of funding guidance and policies. |

|To lead on both planning and funding by using MIS and digital technology expertise to ensure that the Service is at the forefront of data management and |

|fully maximises the benefits of new developments in this area. |

|To be responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate cross college reporting, and the development and implementation of an effective cross-Service strategy|

|for MIS, ICT and key service functions. |

|To play an active role in the Service’s business planning cycle, system set-up, interaction with other Service departments, alignment with strategic |

|priorities and ensuring funding allocations are delivered to target. |

|To lead, in collaboration with Executive Board colleagues on external funding methodology, funding systems and opportunities to maximise income for the |

|Service, including new and alternative sources of income. |

|Main duties and responsibilities |

|Leadership and Management |

|Provide clear strategic leadership to encourage innovation, growth and a positive response to government and funding agency initiatives |

|Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant national, regional and local developments affecting the post-16 education and training sector. |

|Be responsible for and lead on the development and delivery of identified cross-service projects and portfolios to meet the Service’s strategic plans. |

|Provide effective line management to ensure that Service plans are implemented and achieved within allocated resources. |

|Lead by example and provide a positive role model for staff and learners |

|Lead and direct teams within areas of responsibility: |

|Management Information Service |

|Ensure the Service’s management information systems and processes deliver timely, accurate and relevant performance information which meets funding body |

|requirements, audit standards, the needs of the curriculum and management. |

|Ensure that all financial and learner data returns are made to the funding agencies and other planning and funding bodies in a timely and accurate manner. |

|Direct the strategic management and data analysis function for the Service to improve management information systems and work processes in order to |

|positively impact the retention, outcomes and progression of our learners. |

|Responsibility for the establishment and effective operation of a robust MIS platform and ensure compliance with key future funding changes and Inspection |

|requirements |

|Ensure timely planning for the examinations cycle and streamlining of processes. |

|Ensure that the curriculum is optimised for funding and adheres to the funding regulations, in particular reflects any changes to the methodology. |

|Lead on the constant evaluation of processes to ensure that the management information and reporting services are fit for purpose and meets the needs of the|

|organisation. |

|Learner Experience Service |

|Provide strategic direction and support to the development of a high quality, responsive and effective Learner Experience Service |

|Work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal Education and Training to ensure a robust and co-ordinated, high quality admissions and learning support |

|process for learners. |

|Support admission and enrolment processes and take advantage of technological improvements to improve the learner journey and deliver efficiencies |

|ICT |

|Provide strategic advice and direction on the development of the ICT infrastructure and lead the on-going development of an ILT strategy to meet the |

|changing needs of the Service. |

|To lead the development of systems to enable learners and staff access to the full range of teaching and learning opportunities as appropriate. |

|Marketing |

|Provide strategic advice and direction on the development of the marketing function and services and lead the development of the Marketing Strategy for the |
