| |Non-SSU students: Accept Admission to SSU, sign up for the SSU transfer orientation (required) |
| | and check your MYSSU for further instructions. |
| |More information will be provided at the MANDATORY ZOOM ORIENTATION ON MAY 1st from 1600-1900. This is an introductory|
| |Welcome and guide. Please wait to send questions until the orientation. Unless your question is on admission and |
| |registration. |
| |AN ALL DAY SECOND MANDATORY IN-PERSON ORIENTATION WILL BE HELD ON AUGUST 12 FROM 0800-1800 (Room TBA). |
| |Textbooks are listed at the SSU Bookstore website. You are required to buy the book bundle from the SSU Bookstore. |
| |The textbook search function is located at: Book Store Textbooks |
| |Not all required texts are included in the book bundle. These will need to be purchased separately, but will be |
| |available in the bookstore. |
| |Registration: Please register sooner than later. You do not pay fees when you register. Do not worry we have a spot |
| |for you for nursing courses and will sort out lab groups when we meet together. When you register the classes are |
| |NURS 301 and NURS 303. They each have an accompanying clinical lab section that you will be auto enrolled into. |
| |Class schedule for Fall: |
| |N 301 Lecture: Monday & Wednesday |
| |N 303 Lecture: Monday & Wednesday |
| |N 301/303 Thursday/Friday Skills Testing: First 3 weeks on campus in skills lab from 0800-1700 |
| |N 301 / N303 Clinical days are Thursday & Friday from 0630-1630 following Skills Testing (first 3 weeks) |

| |The hospital experiences are two back-to-back days (Thursdays & Fridays) and two uniforms are recommended. |
| |A white lab coat is required in all campus lab experiences. |
| |Please bring $7 dollars (Cash or Check) to orientation on 8/12. This will be for your ID badge. SSU Nursing picture ID|
| |badges are required at all clinical and skills lab experiences. |

|[pic] |TIME COMMITMENT |
| |The first semester of the program includes two courses: N301, N303 for a total of 15 academic units. |
| |Between class time, clinical, preparation, reading, and assignments students spend 40 hours each week to be successful|
| |in the program. |
| |We recommend waiting to complete any needed GE until after this semester |
| |We realize that many students must work while attending nursing school. Keep in mind the 40-hour a week time |
| |commitment of the program when scheduling your work-week. |

| |LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM “CANVAS” & SEAWOLF ID |
| |All communication via email will be either through Canvas or Seawolf email. Not your personal email account. This is|
| |for security purposes and university policy. |
| |There are Canvas tutorials available on the main Canvas website. These are accessible without a SSU user ID or |
| |Password. It is highly encouraged that you view these tutorials before your classes begin in the fall. |
