Companion Agencies ? Often called non-medical or private duty, companion agencies are able to assist individuals with

ADLs (activities of daily living), meals, housekeeping, laundry, friendly visits/supervision, grocery shopping and

accompanying individuals on medical appointments. Companion agencies cannot assist with medical or nursing related needs. Licensed Agencies ? Licensed agencies are most appropriate for individuals who have a skilled medical or nursing need or require a higher level of physical assistance. Most licensed agencies also offer companion type services as well.
